Simply a badass car.

Year-round supercar well suited for daily usage.

"Porsche Turbo" is a legend.

Amazing to drive.

Pretty much sums up what I was going to say.

To me a 930 is the ultimate Porsche Turbo. Pure Sex and Raw Power.

The 996tt gives you the power coupled with some creature comforts and an affordable price with a platform that can handle power that's only limited by your budget.

For me, it fit my needs the best!

What more can you ask for in a high performance car?

Cheers!

When I sold my viper with 500hp I was hooked on power = 996TT

When I am not driving my full out tubed race car Porsche on the track I wonted something that made me feel in touch with the road. =996TT

Options and the Mod factor = 996TT

Been into Porsche for 30 years 996TT = the best bang for the buck right now hands down ask any car guy on almost any car chat room.

Low cost to run = 996TT

love my car have a NSX supercharged sitting next to it.very hard to dicide which to drive. When I had my 930 it was fun but cars have advanced allot. = 996TT

In the right hands its a blast to drive with or without any mods.

Not one reason. And eveytime I drive it I find another reason.

When I was a Porsche Tech I got to enjoy all the brand had to offer, 996TTs were always my favorite, ever since I was young the image in my head for a Porsche was a silver 911 and 996TTs being my favorite out of them all thats what I got. Bang for the buck cant be ignored either I got such a great deal on my car I would have kicked my own *** if I didnt buy it.

1. Dream car since Day 1.
2. Next logical step after E46 M3
3. Only models I care in the 911 lineup are Turbo and GT3

It is a reliable fast car. Use to own a e46 m3 too much problems.

Corvette/Viper: No rear seat
GT500: Huge markups and too heavy
M3: Driving experience not as good or as fast
997: Not as fast, RMS issues

#1: Drove it and couldn't stop wanting it

Always dreamed of having a Turbo. Was looking at a 996 C4S for a bit, but eventually concluded that I'd always regret not going for the "real thing".

I also concur with beckham that it's the next logical step after an E46 M3.

M3 doesn't have nearly the power or handling sensation.

Ultimate performance with DD reliability (and so far, way less problems than my M3), without the ridiculous maintenance costs of an Italian competitor.

It's a LOT of car for the money IMO...

Hrm... Forced induction, equal to or greater than the 3liters of my previous car, as lighter or lighter than my previous car, modern ABS and traction control, AWD (ha!), and expensive enough that is some jackass runs it over I won't have to fight to get my money back from the insurance company claiming it's not worth anything!

If I had bought an EVO or STi which were both under consideration I'd have paid a decent amount, piled a bunch more in it, and ended up spending about as much but getintg back FAR less if some jackass hit it. At this price\performance point there's not much to consider if you insist on forced induction - and I do...

I used to get mad about reading a thread and feeling that everyone already said what I wanted to say, but nowadays, I love the fact that I can just give responses like this :

1. Agree 100%

As others said, it's a terrific blend of high quality engineering, excellent styling, a very nice interior, the ability to upgrade damn near everything on it, and a fantastic marque. Although I strongly considered a GT3, this car was a better relative bargain and more in-line with my previous higher power/torque machines...so I knew it would be a terrific fit.

I test drove the 996TT and a modified C6 Z06 the same day, and it was a very easy decision to buy the 996TT that I currently own.
2. Couldn't haev said it better!

BTW, I don't know about you, but after owning a 6cyl FI, I can't seem to get excited about a dingy 4cyl. No matter how much HP I could squeeze out of a 4cyl, there is always more to be had out of extra 2 cyl!!
