Restoring Interior Carbon Fiber

I have the factory Carbon Fiber package. The door handles have become dull and cloudy looking. Anyone know an easy way to refurbish this?

I was thinking about using something like the Meguiars headlight restoration product, but not sure what that will do to the finish.

Any ideas? Thx!

Is a common problem with OEM CF trims, it turn cloudy and yellowish due to the resin. From my understand, there is no easy way to clear this up. Replace or re-warp seem to be the only solutions. We do carry all CF interior parts, let me know if we can help!

Try wrapping them first, much cheaper than replacing.

Nice try, but no workie

Well, I thought I would update this thread after trying to buff the CF on my door handles back to life.

I bought the products mentioned in the above Detailers Domain thread and followed the instructions to a T. Unfortunately, I think these things are too far gone. While it did polish the top finish to a glossy shine, the gray, cloudy faded look is too deep underneath to bring back to life.

Kinda bums me out, cause the CF all around the rest of the interior still looks great (except for the cracked and peeled dash vent pieces, which curled up and went to s@#t a while back). I am guessing maybe, since the door handles have 9 years of being stressed by pulling the doors shut, maybe they are weakened now and that causes the fading?

Wonder how hard these are to get off now, so I can replace them?

Anyone have an idea as to how to remove them without damaging the handle and the surrounding leather? Thx!

Has anyone ever tried to get this stuff replaced under warranty (either factory or aftermarket?)

Some people have had luck with warranty replacements, some have not. The problem is CF is not meant to be exposed to UVA/UVB rays. To make matters more complex, the interior CF is just a thin wrap. It looks very nice, but unfortunately has longevity issues (much like leather dashboards or sun visors).
