200 MPH in a 996 TT
no little convertable roll bar or helmet will save you when your car blows a tire at 200mph. contribute some funds to have a pro driver on this forum here with experience to take you in his 996tt 700hp and teach you the things you need to know above 150mph. Then, in his caged car with his supervision on a non-public road you can enjoy the max speeds...
Where is your spot?
In SoCal there is a road that this lady who lived alone and was wealthy had done as a driveway to her house. She died long ago and the house was abandoned. The road remains and it is long. I just can't remember where it is.
went 150 in my 76 930 way stupid it was on the street, not real safe, i was chaseing a chp buddy.... real foolish now that i look back but that was 15 years ago.... try to keep the 01 under 125 or so guess thats not real smart , but it is fun
how much noise to the ragtops make at those speeds inside?
You've got it flash68, San Mateo bridge is the longest straight I know. The bridge is 7 miles long with a straight that is 5 miles long. When there is no car in front of you, you have the 3 lanes, one way straight all by yourself (actually, I was racing a MB, but no other cars around).

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind.
It's pretty much the coolest thing I've ever done. At least that's what my pregnant wife always says.
