Get ready for more. I have the same thing. There are lots of rattles... the speaker grille on the dash on the passenger side, the drivers door, the a-pillar on the passenger side, the rear deck... annoying.

I empathize with you. I have about 4 different rattles and scraping noises. I just got a new one in the dash. It sounds like plastic rubbing together. After my europipe install, the noises don't bother me quit as much.

Does anyone have the "rattle" vibration in their center console cd carrier (if equipped)? It is horrible.

Yep. It is 10x worse if you have a "hefty" aftermarket exhaust.

I had a rattle for 6 months in the passenger dash of my Lexus. One day I opened the glove box and found the lug nuts lock flying around in there. Problem solved. I don't know if Turbos have the same issue or if it was a Lexus specific thing.

I had the same problem with the cassette carrier, it was driving me crazy. I was going to replace it with another storage shelf (part numbers), but ended up ordering the GT3 console delete instead.

Take a look at your speaker housing on the right passenger side.

Couple of things that really help with rattles - first, try to get someone to ride along and pinpoint the exact location. Normally one can find rattles by pushing on stuff around the noise, until it stops.

For plastic rubbing plastic squeaks, spraying Armor All around the area will often lubricate the pieces enough to stop the noise (make sure you wipe it afterward to prevent shiny dash syndrome).

Gummi Pfledge (available from a BMW parts counter) will normally stop door seal noises too, which you will hear when the chassis is flexing (driveways sideways). Also try Wurth weather stripping treatment, available from Benz part counters.

I have several pieces of weather stripping shoved into nooks and crannies in my car to stop rattles - hardest part is finding out WHAT is rattling, then its just a task of figuring out ways to stop them.
