Sorry I can't answer your question but I have one of my own, and I'm only asking this to try and learn. What benefit would this conversion give you? And what do you consider is the subframe?

I can answer Larry's question...Sort of...

There are two subframes. one under the front of the car that holds the front suspension components at the bottom mounting points, along with the steering rack. The other subframe serves two purposes... holding the rear suspension as well as the motor/bellhousing.

If they're the same dimensions and mount locations, you could probably get it to work. If the geometry is better with the 997, then that would be a definite plus.

Question is would you require different suspension uprights as well?

Hello.

I already have the 997 GT3 CUP / RSR uprights on my car. so now i will only need the subframe and the lower RSR controlarm.

So the only thing im very intreasted in is if the mount holes for the 996 front subframe is the same as the 997 subframe??

Best Regards

Isn't the 997 wider in both the front and the rear? I'm sure the GT3 and Turbo are. Highly unlikely the subframes will fit.

Maybe a NB 997?

Seems like a decent concept though to be able to lower the car more.

Hi, did you ever get this to work on your car?
I have a 996 gt2 also and have 997 cup uprights and rear side subframe a but haven't fitted them yet. I was told the front 997 control arms and subframe should work to improve geometry but haven't spoke to anyone who has actually done it.
Cheers

The 997 GT3 cars have a redesigned lower roll centers compared to the 996 cars. If you change the front you will need to change the rear also. When I was changing uprights I was advised to go with the front 996 Cup uprights for this reason. I'm really not sure if the 997 sub frame would be a direct bolt on anyway.

Hi, yes I have the rear uprights as well as the rear side subrames. I'm going to do the conversion soon. The front uprights as basically the same as the 996 gt3 Rs uprights which just use the normal 996 front subframe and lower split control arms so they will fit fine, but at the rear I have the 996 Rs lower arms and I haven't found out if they are the same track width as the split 997 rs arms so I may need them as well.
That's why I was thinking of doing the front subframe and control arms as well.
I thought the 996 cup uprights are basically the same as 996 gt ones?
I never managed to find out what the exact differences are.
