Less than 10k miles too low for '01 - '03 996tt?
Also, if you own the car for 10 years and put 100k miles on it you have a car with 110k miles or 130k miles respectively. In terms of value, you are over 100k miles. Does it matter? On the other hand, if your car has PCCB, full leather, neat wheels, etc; you enjoyed the luxury of enhanced options... For ten years. And your car is better optioned and likely more valuable in the high mile market.
For me the real enjoyment of having the car is in driving it. How else are you going to experience what makes it a Porsche? You will never get the emotional feeling by letting it sit in you garage like you will behind the wheel at 1.0 BAR. The enjoyment is not only the drive but the smiles and waves of those who see a work of art in motion.
Just get a car w/ a good maintenance history and then do the maintenance as needed for the miles you add.
It only uses as much gas as you put in it.

i bought my 02' in feb 08 with 5k miles on it. It did have records of being maintained yearly at the dealer. The oil was changed every year, brake flluid flushed every other, and battery replaced once. Other than that nothing was done to it. I haven't done anything except change the oil and flush the brake fluid in the last two years, and i have put 7k more miles on it. oh wait i did have shifter changed to the 997 version, which is as good as everybody says.
Fly, great points. I have just over 80k miles(in just 2.5 yrs) on my dd (STI: big turbo, kw v3s, etc.) It is driven daily and is not abused, but I do hit full boost from time to time.
I'm looking for its 911tt replacement to be more refined, but just as reliable and fun to drive.
I asked this before, but here's a more specific question on the warranty issue. At this time, I'd only think I'd get an intake, exhaust, and tune/flash (hope to be around 450-500 awhp).
Should I have issues with service coverage with these light mods? I have had just a few minor maintenance expenses on my STi (no warranty). However, I know Porsche maintenance bills can be pricey, so that is why I'd want a warranty. I'm aware of potential issues, spoiler strut, 2nd gear, dvs, accumulator, etc. Even after a clean bill of health from a PPI I'd still be worried that something like the above would go out after I put a few thousand miles on it.
Seems like Easy Care is the one to go with too. Right?

As long as the owner maintains the car the low mileage is not a problem. That means an "annual service" on the car, make them show you the receipts. I have an 01 with 5,500 miles on it. I do the annuals and it is perfect.
Good luck.
Good luck.
