Do you guys get 'harassed' everytime you drive your car? (and other good car stories)
Ya', 35% tint on the front is just asking for it IMO. Makes the cops really twitchy when they cannot see anything in the car. Drawing a firearm though is a bit much although I'd agree with asking you to exit the vehicle. Probably best to keep the dark tint off the front unless you're someplace really bad like Arizona or Florida and then only if it's legal. I've had dark tint on the rear and somewhat dark on the sides and night driving can be a bit rough if you have to reverse etc. so I cannot imagine that on the front. Claiming they will imprison you though is a bit much as is asking others why they are there - I've had that crap done to me too and it's best to simply ignore it.
if you like peace symbols go to marin co in commie ca. cars in marin are required to have at least 4 bumper stickers on them and they drive 45 in the fast lane. they just have no idea whats real and whats not, most of em are commie libs and they are proud of it. lived there when i was a kid, no commies there then . opps thats when they put commies in jail
went along with the black and red scheme of the car, ooo and it was hard to see out of at night but I rarely drove the car at night anyways. Looking back yea I would not have done it again.
Hrm.. so I encountered another P-car driver today while driving mine. Dark colored Carrera S4 I think it was, probably a dark green. Pulled up next to him at a light, he glances over, I try to tell him I like his car and nod, he turns away as if he doesn't see me. Middle aged looking guy in a suit with his nose in the air. I know my car is a little dirty at the moment but come on! Not harassment obviously but it's this kind of behavior that gets drivers of this marque labeled *******s. Why is it such a big deal to acknowledge another? I liked the look of his car and wanted to say so <shrug>
I think that they think that there is a class separation between the higher end p-cars like the turbo and their NA cars. What they don't understand is that we don't care. Most turbo guys or GT3 guys I encounter are cool. It's always been the NA Carrera or Boxster or Cayman guys. Even the older 911 car guys are cool. Of course, I am sure the dooshbags are not as prevalent as it appears.
I've often thought the same thing. I'll wave at someone in a Boxter or whatever and half of the time they look like they don't even see me. I don't care what model Porsche they're driving either.
Thanks for the validation
I told my girlfriend that people always try to race by me in this turbo, that they get aggressive and try to prove themselves. She told me I was superficial and petty to notice or imagine such things because I have a fancy Porsche......
My NEW girlfriend likes my car.

When I met my wife she was perfectly happy driving a Nissan Altima....told her if she got her pre baby body back she could have the CTT.
She finally got back in shape but man has it cost me. She thinks maintenance is putting gas in the tank.

cost you but you benefited at the same time
Was driving my G around yesterday with the top down and pulled into a parking place. A soccer Mom pulled next to me with the 3 year old in the back seat so the kid could say he had a Matchbox car like mine. She then complimented me on my car and the hat I was wearing (a Livestrong hat) and then hit on me. My wife pulled into the restaurant a few minutes later. I told her what happened, she just chuckled.

Where's the street-wise Hercules to fight the rising odds ?....."
Well, time to add another story to our growing list. I was coming back from Houston where my car was getting it's finishing touches. Doing 71mph in a 70mph I came up on two DPS guys in separate tahoes ( the weight/scales truck killer guys). I fell in line behind a bunch of cars who were all afraid to pass them. Finally, I moved into the left lane with the cruise on at 71mph (I knew this because my Kenwood GPS tells you the exact speed in the corner). My overtake speed was less than a walking speed and it took me 5 minutes to come up on them. Get past the first one and he immediately slammed on his lights and pulls me over. I throw up my arms p*ssed off! He smugly comes up to the car and asks me for the usual garbage. He then asks if I knew why I was pulled over and said no. He said I was speeding and since they were going 70, why would I pass them? I said I wasn't speeding and had it verified on the GPS. It could've been tire inflation that would make that little difference. He then said I was in the left lane too long and he could right me up for that also! I asked him how I was supposed to know that he was going the speed limit. He didn't have an answer and told me he was just giving me a warning so don't worry about it. I AM TICKED!!!! This was ridiculous. Getting pulled over for a 71 in a 70!!! I feel like writing him up so at least a letter could be placed in his folder. Everybody says just forget it but I can't. It's abuse of power and smelled of,"I'm having to work today and I don't like you because you have a nicer car than I do". I guess I'll just get over it...
