Do you guys get 'harassed' everytime you drive your car? (and other good car stories)
Believe it or not I do not get much harassment while driving the banana.I had a Redneck driving an old Cadillac riding my bumper one night while coming home from work.I was driving a silver turbo at the time. He kept following me so I decided to pull into a restaurant parking lot to avoid him following me home.I asked him why he was messing with me in a calm voice. I tried my best to diffuse the situation,he just kept saying I cut him off, which I apologized over & over ,to no avail.Long story short it got physical. I gave up trying to appease him when I felt he was going to try & kick the car. I hope when he woke up the following day and thinks twice before harassing people.
I have a very short fuse and have been in simullar situations as Paulie, once even have to get out of my car on a red light because the guy came up to my window. Anyways I wanted to share a positive story, the other night I was trying to do 60-130 runs, it was very late at night on a empty high way I did the run and slowed down all of the sudden I see bright lights coming at me. I waited until it got closer and noticed a big truck, so I said, "what the hell, he wants to play, okay." I punched it till about 160ish looked back and could barely see his headlights. I slowed down and he pulls up next to me and signals for me to pull over, so I do. He was in amazement. The first words out of his mouth was, "what do you have in that thing." I told him I was stock with a tune. He then told me about his turbo-diesel truck and everything he had on it, I started laughing and told him everything I had in the car. Then he says the funniest thing ever. He said, "I saw you car take off and I wanted to play so I punched it, I was like, I'm catching him, I'm catching him, the all the sudden I see your car squat, shoot out a flame and take off, I was like this son of a ***** wasn't even punching it!" We had a good laugh, shook hands and went on our ways.
I know a few guys with fast trucks that really didn't understand how fast a fast car really was..until I took them fior a ride. To them, their trucks were fast...but they just had absolutely no idea what fast really is...
Thankfully, laser hasn't made it's way down here in large quantities yet. Most of the police are still using Radar, which my V-1 catches a long way out. I guess I need to consider getting a jammer one of these days, as I imagine it's just a matter of time before laser becomes the detector of choice in my area as well.
I have another one, but this wasnt porsche related , just a$$ hole related... driving into work in my beater subie , in down town ,i get over into the right lane ... there was a big red pickup truck behind me , when i got over i had atleast 10 ft, i guess he felt i cut him off , so hes on my *** the rest of the way to work ... so i hook my final right and oull into my parking lot .. i also had a lot of money on me cuase i was going to the bank right after to make a deposit ... so as i pull in , i park im in the car , this dude follows me in .. slams the brakes and rolls out reaches in back of the bed and picks up a pipe or something.... dude was big with ahuge beard lol... so as hes walking over to me i kick my door open , whip my glock .357 out and put one in the pipe and point it at him...he stops dead in his tracks .. and gets back in his truck and takes off...20 min later the cops show up , lol he called them on me...little does he know i had the whole thing on video from the outside cameras..and two that showed up the one guy i train he asked what happen i told him i said i have it on dvr if he wants to see it , he said no .
.goes to show you that there are all sorts of fked up people out there.

Yea, my radar detector gives me plenty of warning, no problem there. It also warns for laser, but without the jammer, once the warning goes off, you're screwed. Thank God for the track.

One thing, bro...if you're going to carry, I'd recommend keeping a round in the chamber at all times. You may not always have time to rack the slide to the rear in a life or death situation.

Here's another one Scott: I'm driving down the slow lane on an expressway and there's a cyclist in a bike lane on my right coming up. As I approach the cyclist, I pull to the left and straddle the lane to give him room. I come to a stop at the next traffic light and this guys pulls up next to me yelling that I drove so close to him I could have shaved his legs. He pulls his bike in front of my car and goes off ranting about my driving.
Now, I'm a cyclist myself and give room to others on a bike. This guy had plenty of room to ride and I wasn't any where close to him. I don't know what he was expecting to do on his bike, but this guy was whacked!
I still see him on occasion riding his bike on the expressway - he's going to run into somebody else one day that isn't as considerate.

I've got a kind of related story. Back in the 70's I got my first Porsche, a 74 911S. I used to drive that car over 100mph every day. Got 15 speeding tickets that year, in Houston, but had a lawyer who charged me $40 plus the $40 ticket charge{tickets were cheap then}, and he would postpone the hearing so many times that the cop wouldn't show up. Never got any tickets on my record. I felt invincible, but it's no longer allowed. Anyway I was driving out to Austin one day cruising about 110mph, we all had CB radios back then. I'm in the left hand lane coming up on 2 cars in the left hand lane. I pull into the right lane to go around and all of a sudden the first car pulls into the right lane directly in front of me. Putting on the brakes wouldn't have helped but luckily I had my wits about me so I swung on to the right shoulder and kept going. Don't know whether that person was trying to get out of my way or trying to mess with me, but the Porsche made that maneuver a piece of cake and saved the day.

I'm a mountain biker myself, and I've never understood the mentality of certain Roadies out there.

I wish the continual postponement of hearings was still allowed. Great lawyer!

This guy prolly rides "critical mass" in the city...
This has been going on for a long time. My best friend from CA and I helped his older brother start a bike rental shop in the City back about 94? Blazing Saddles. Fun times riding around the city after midnight on a Mt. Bike. The original North Beach pizza use to be the best in the City. I moved away in 98 and his brother sold the bike rental shop after that. I think he had open 2 other shops around the City but got major coin when he sold.
