Is this a TT headlight???

I have a chance to buy an apparent 02+ TT headlight... here is a pic of it... is it in fact a TT headlight??

It has all the HID related equipment attached to it... but did the Boxster and/or C2 get HID as well??

the light is same shape but this light is from a C2/C4/4S/GT3. TT and GT2 lights look slightly different than the rest of 996.

TT and C4S Headlight. Yep. That's the carcass anyway - no idea what's inside if it's been opened. It's a Litronic, could be Xenon.

If it's the real deal, list price is $1400 EACH. Kits sell for $2600 or so from most dealers. These lights will not fit a Boxster. '02 996, TT and later only.

The part number is listed for a 2002 up 996 Bi-Xenon, right side.

I thought is was the same used on the 2001 up turbo, but for some reason the turbo has a different part number.

so if it is a bi-xenon, is it essentially the same headlight used on TTs and GT2s???

if not, what is the difference in TT and GT2 headlights???

This headlight in question DOES come with all the HID related equipment (ie, ballast, HID bulb, etc.)

Daniel,
My question is from what car was this headlight stolen. If you aren't already aware, there is a huge market for stolen 996 style headlights. If you suspect this is a stolen light, please do not support the cause.

It probably can go in a TT, but it's not from one originally. The TT headlights don't have those ridges in the material around the fog light. The TT's is flat like chrome.

edit: I would give 2 to 1 odds that it is stolen too btw.

TT or GT2 light doesn't have the vertical lines like the one in the picture.

like arling stated, the smooth lights are what distinguishes 996tt and gt2 lights from the rest.

Looks like it was stolen from a 2002 and beyond reg 996 /C4S with the Bixenon option , not from a Turbo/GT2.

If I have any doubt that the headlight was stolen, I'll be sure and not buy it.... the person who is selling it is selling it on a local forum here, and said that it was purchased from a reputable ebay seller who specializes in Porsche parts... I'll try to find out who it is

Thanks for everyones replies.....

anyone know anyone selling GT2/TT headlights????

most headlights from 9x6s that you see being sold on ebay are probably stolen

quite a few were stolen last year. some people even had them stolen from their car twice (once after replacing the stolen ones!!!)

apparently they slide right out with some simple hand tools and some pulling
