Stage 5 RED BEAST REPORT!

Okay, so you all want to know what it is like to drive a 996tt with 700 horses right??? Well so do I!!! Currently the RED BEAST is only running 600 hp. We are waiting on some coding to be finished up by GIAC to get the full 700 HP released. So as awesome as the car is now I can't wait to unleash the extra 100 ponies!! Should have this resolved this week I hope!! Colin????

Anyhow even with just "600" ponies man is this thing a kick in the pants! My car is now running perfect no check engine lights no rough idle no problems for 722 miles home to Michigan.

Sean and I ran side by side on the freeway up to 170mph and I must say that the RUF 550 R is one fast car. We basically were neck and neck up to 170. So as everyone has guessed RUF is conservative with their HP numbers. Sean I would say is running every bit of 600 HP. Just wait until I unleash the extra 100 ponies Sean!!

The KW suspension is really nice. Right now it is set up for DE specs and was still very compliant and comfortable on the way home. I have to learn how to make the adjustments to really screw it down for my track event this weekend! PES thinks this is even better than the PSS9 setup.

Brakes seem to be really firm and bring the beast down quickly! Clutch does not feel any different than stock to me. And the sound this car makes on every shift is something that has to be heard to understand. At every shift is just an awesome, wicked mad sound!! I love my Fabspeed!!

The trip home will be in another thread!

All in all I am very happy just impatiently waiting for my other 100 horses!!!

My lil' kitty kat Richard says you should get that extra 100 from NOS

Seriously though, sounds exciting... let us know!

PS At that speed aerodynamics helps a lot. Trust me I know (check out the video: http://www.racingflix.com/getvideo.asp?v=298&p=5), I've taken out some higher HP vipers that way... and I'm guessing the RUF had a wing, body kit etc.. to help

Wow... should be interesting to see what happens when you get the other 100 horses. Hopefully, you will have a chance to run against Sean when the car is ready.

How much boost are you running right now?

Buddy...glad to know that you got home safe and sound! We enjoyed hosting you yesterday....you represented MI in stellar fashion. That car of yours is a pure monster...I can't begin to imagine it with 100 more ponies. As I stated in the previous post, I was pleasantly surprised by my car’s performance yesterday. The numbers we were doing yesterday were numbing to say the least.

Keep us posted when you’ve resolved the HP….keep well

I am not totally sure but I believe Colin said it was only at 17psi and will be going over 21psi when it is done.

Hey buddy, your car is just plain SICK man congrats on such a nice car I really like it!!! You gotta run some video of it when the full stage 5 is done to show us "slow" turbos whats its like with 700 ponies .

Question:Is that your car with the SICK sterio system or is that the other red one that was there??
If its yours:Where did you have that done (local?)!!! Thats is the nicest install I have seen on a Turbo EVER!!! I am planning a system in the future and would love to know the specs on yours!! I am planning a Kennwood 911 flip out which is yours?? Please let me know exact specs of yours as I would love to do a very similar set up!! I can only imagine that box in YELLOW behind my yellow painted sport seats!!!
Thanks...

Evan surely you should at least get a Stage IV GT set up, even if not a stage 5. I bet it'll cost less than the stereYO

Yeah, that was my car with the stereo. Specs are below:

Alpine CVA 1006 Flip screen
Alpine 6 Disc DVD Changer
Alpine DVD Navigation
Alpine XM Radio/Receiver/Single Disc (forgot the model)
JL Audio Subwoofers 3 - 8 inch subs in custom enclosure
JL Audio Amps 2 x 150 and 1 x 500
Sharp 15" Flat screen LCD monitor for front trunk
MB Quart speakers in the doors and dash
Capacitors, upgraded battery, dynamat in the floor
and doors, monster cables and lots of other things
I probably have forgotten!

This was done at a local shop called Classic Stereo in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They have done numerous systems for me and do an oustanding job. The above system is quite expensive and not recommended unless you really love a custom stereo!!

Thanks bud, man its a good thing you have 700 ponies coming for all that WIEGHT!!!! I don't plan on going as crazy as you with the system by ANY STRECH, but it will deff. be my model. The thing I love is that sub enclosure painted to match the car!!! Prob do that with a nice amp in tunk mounted flush and like I said the Kenwood touchscreen. God you guys are right, being on here sure does make you spend more money...man by now my dad must hate you guys with all the money he is spending . He is actually enjoying building this car too...even though he never really gets the chance to drive it .
Regards,
Evan (guess the secrets out )
