A Friendly Reminder!
as a fellow board member just recently blew one of his rear tire due to the inner side wall completely worn out, please take few minutes go the the car bend over & check the rear tire. THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.
we all have at least +1 degree nagative camber in the rear of our cars for better handling reason. therefore the inside will wear out a lot faster than the outside & u can't see it. this is very common & please don't freak out. rear tire will probably have about half life as front & should have no more than 10k miles.
again, u don't want the tire to blow out when u go 80+ mph. so please go check the tire & have a safe drive!

thats my car arling is talking about ... i was lucky that i wasnt speeding on the freeway when this happened ... thanks for your help Arling, if it wasn't for your help i would probably still be waiting for porsche roadside assistance ... did everyone know that porsche roadside assistance will only tow your car, and will not change the tire? i had a friend bring me a back tire with rim, and roadside assistance would not send someone to put it on. i had to take my friends car and go out looking for a tow truck because roadside service told me that it would take another 2 hours to send someone out (to tow my car), and i didnt have a jack for my car. i ended up getting lucky and finding a tow truck in 10 minutes and paying the guy to switch the rim for me.

This is also the case for almost any european performance sedan, too.
Almost all of these cars eat tires on the inside faster. Some manufacturers of tires are starting to make them with harder inside halves (PS2) to try and combat uneven wear.
Please take the time to check. It's always a good bet too to get in the habit of having the tires dismounted from the rims at least once during their lives and moved to the other side of the car and re-mounted. This will help keep them wearing evenly.

How is the inside getting eaten faster. I know if soneone drives in a straight line for 10K miles the negative camber will errode the inner edge, but as soon as you start pushiong it through corners, that is quickly reversed and the outer edge wears MUCH asfter than the inner edge. Does the 3 - 5 auto cross events and mabey 1 or 2 annual track days that I participate in make that much difference?
