Need help in removing OEM Exhaust

I'm kind of stuck in trying to remove my OEM exhaust. I've got the nuts loose from the exhaust to the turbos, unhooked the O2 sensor wire in the engine compartment but now I'm stuck.

There seems to be some type of clip holding the wire coming up from the front o2 sensor. The wire leaves the o2 sensor and immediately turns 90 degrees horizontal toward rear of car. There is some attachment of the wire to the heat shield covering the coil pack. The other wire attachments are simple slip in spring loaded type but this one almost seems permanently attached. I can't get a wrench on the o2 sensors until I lower the exhaust and can't lower until I get this detached.

I'm stuck!

Thanks for the suggestions.

Keith

Do you have the rear bumper off? I took mine off when I did mine. It was a lot easier. I'm not sure where you're stuck (wire) as all I did was unplug the o2 sensors from the engine bay and then removed them from the U-shaped clips. I was able to drop both wires down on each side.

Also here is a link to exhaust removal.

Good Luck!

Well I think I finally got all the clips off the O2 sensor wiring. The absolute worst one was on drivers side immediately above the sensor. It was different than the others, blue and passed thru a heat shield. Had to use a long screwdriver and pry and poke to get it out of the heat shield. There is no way, some of these clips will go back as there is just no way to reach them. I even removed the bumper thinking I might have better access, nope.

Ran out of time so I will tackle the actual dropping of exhaust on Saturday.

I have purchased a modified OEM exhaust from Ken. Hopefully I can get it installed this weekend and report back. I'm looking for a bit more sound than stock but not to the point of drone.

Cool! I did the TJW mod to my OEM muffler. Made a big difference, just not big enough. It has very little drone and only for a small range in the RPMs.
Good luck, looking forward to the review.
