Should I run my friends zr1?
I'd say go for it although a slightly modded ZR1 can be an absolute beast...
FYI...2010 ZR1 has launch control. If the guy can truly drive it's a very fast 0-60 car without even using launch control. They hook better than you might imagine. I wouldn't expect a huge advantage from a dig unless your friend doesn't have much seat time in his car.

that goes against what OP just said about the guys ZR1 not getting traction. No different than the ZO6. I think on street tires that ZR1 will have trouble from a dig.

2010 CORVETTE ZR1: PERFORMANCE TRACTION MANAGEMENT ENHANCES AN ALREADY WORLD-BEATING DRIVING EXPERIENCE
After taking on the world’s best supercars and proving a better value and performer by the global automotive press, the Corvette ZR1 returns for 2010 with new Performance Traction Management (PTM) technology. It is an advanced system that is part of a new Launch Control feature, which optimizes traction for greater and more consistent on-track performance.
The PTM system holds a predetermined engine speed while the driver pushes the throttle to the floor. That allows the driver to quickly release the clutch and the system modulates engine torque 100 times per second to maximize the available traction. The system is capable of approaching a skilled driver’s best effort and repeats it consistently. (3.4 sec 0-60)

DJ'Z, so the launch control is more of a launch/traction control system. That should be interesting. I think op should do two runs, one from a dig and the other from a roll. see how they compare.
blkmgk, I agree.

This has been done on a show called AutoCar. Both cars were stock and From the dig, the GT2 edged it out in the 1/4 However, from a roll the ZR1 was simply too much. Watch the vid and then calculate what a modded ZR1 would do. IMO I think your in for some hurtin either way once you cross into triple digits.

Apples and oranges comparison.

It may happen if they wanna give it the challenge feel. Small amount will not affect for sure.
