I made a couple of very unscientifc runs with my 01 TT today and wanted to know if these numbers sound reasonable for a stock + "xxx' flash)(board sponsor vendor). Keep in mind these are nothing but stopwatch numbers so probably +/- couple tenths.

60-130 around 9.5 seconds (3rd gear and 4th gear)

The other times were rolling at 70mph in 4th,5th or 6th gear and then going WOT and timing how long before built-in boost gauge went to 1.0 bar which is the maximum I've seen with the "xxx" tune

4th gear - 2.5 seconds
5th gear - 3.5 seconds
6th gear - 4.5 seconds

Do these times sound normal for stock + flash?

Car seems to pull stongly with no miss. It just seems slow building boost in the higher gears.

Any other good measurement of state of tune? Thanks.

your 60-130 should be a bit lower, but that is under good conditions and driving.

 

Please get a Pbox so you can compare to the others on the list. 9.5 60-130 is Very good with only a flash. That may be a record.

Oh, right...I was thinking of TxGold (Ryans) 7.9 w/ a chip and exhaust.

 

I guess I was more concerned with the perception of slow boost build-up from 70 in the tall gears. It seems flat for several seconds before pulling but then pulls hard. I haven't driven a lot of TT so trying to decide what's normal. Is there a verified normal 60-130 for a stock car and one with normal flash?Does anyone loan/rent Pbox?Keith

My stock tip car ran a 12.8 60-130. With flash, exhaust and Dv's I ran a 10.5 60-130. Boost will build slower in the higher gears. There may be 6speeder near you who can loan a box to you.

 

I remembered I have a Traqmate system in my race car which I guess should work. I've only used it in the qualifiing and lapping mode. It captures GPS data along with two axis acceleration data. Believe it has elevation as well.

What is the proper method for testing? I was in third gear with boost showing 0.0 bar at 60mph and then went WOT, shifted to 4th gear and finished the run? Is that the correct method? Other option would be to be in 2nd gear and accelerating as went past 60. What is the proper method?

Start around at 30-35mph in 3rd. Hammer it, short shift into 4th and ride it to rev limit. Try starting in second as well, but never at such a high mph..

My primary concern is that it seems to lag 2-3 seconds from hammering the throttle until the boost comes on. Aren't these cars electronic throttle operated. Could there be some issue with throttle sensor position? Once it begins pulling, it pull hard with no issues. It just seems to have gotten very slow in launching.

Any ideas?
