Group upgrade meet?

Anyone interested in getting together for a few hours and wrenching on our cars doing some common and simple upgrades?

I thought if a half dozen or so people with 996's got together we can leverage each others experience (and labor) and perform some easy and common upgrades learning more about our cars and other members along the way.

Some of us (me) may be a little hesitant to to start the work ourselves but having others there to assist/lend a second pair of hands, talk shop, etc. might be beneficial and fun.

There are a slew of things on my to-do list and even watching someone else do the upgrade on their car would be helpful.

Here are a few upgrade ideas:

1 - Valentine 1 remote wiring hook-up (power the unit from sunroof switch)
2 - Garage door opener mod - using console switch
3 - Short Shift Kit install
4 - Ipod/radio install
5 - Gauge overlays
6 - Detailing ideas
7 - Eliminate rattles, door panel removal, etc.
8 - Video camera install ideas (location, experience, etc.)
9 - ??

Afterwards we could head out for a drive... We'd have to come up with a location and a plan but just throwing out the idea now as I think a lot of members are interested in getting more familiar with their cars and meeting other members.

I realize these can all be done individually by reading the various forums and following the steps but I was hoping to make it more of a community thing. Kinda like I used to do (headers, engine swaps, etc.) in my muscle car days with five friends and our rented four bay garage.

What do you guys think?

- This would of course be a NorCal meet but wanted to post here in case others might want to try doing the same thing in their area.

I need a Porsche OE screw for dash & garage opener mod. I've got some spare time and could drive to NorCal :-) Seriously though a great idea. I may post something in midwest section.

Forked River.....I installed the Europipe Exhaust last week, took me a total of 3 hours, piece of cake. I have not taken my car to any DE events yet. And your location?

I'm in morristown - rt287 & 80. I belong to nnjr pca. I have the exhaust left to do. So far I installed Diverters, KN filter, RS motor mounts, GT3 brakes, SS lines. Coilovers next with new tires. Then KW3V or PSS10
still deciding. Then im done for this year. Fall time GT3 sway bar links and exhaust. Maybe Marskis. later
