red is the new silver
My first Porsche was guards red--great color when freshly waxed, but was fairly high maintenance (swirls, dust, dirt and water marks showed).
Next was ocean blue--beautiful for around 5 minutes after waxed, downhill quickly from there. Almost as bad as black.
My last Carrera was seal grey, which was a great compromise--looked beautiful freshly waxed, and didn't show swirls or dirt that much.
My current Carrera is arctic silver. I love it. It's a classic German car color, and shows the lines of the car nicely. And it is very low maintenance. I usually wash it once a month, and use a California duster on it in between. I washed it yesterday for the first time in 2 months--with all the rain we've had in the bay area, I couldn't find a time to wash it when it wasn't raining, but it really didn't look that bad. Not as gratifying to detail as black or dark blue, but I'm at the point where I'd rather have a color that looks good most of the time, than one that looks superb for 5 minutes...

It's also so rare, that it took me forever to find a pic of one.

I always said I would never buy a black car. My 996 is silver and most everything I have had has been silver, white or blue. But....when my dealer offered me 15.000 off my Cayenne S demo w/300 miles Black was fine for me. Always have loved black, but never wanted to deal with it. As Ben said, the car gets scratches when u look at it wrong. The money could not be beat and when its clean it is the best damn looking color. My car is about 2 months old and has been washed atleast 12-15 times......

Speed Yellow is the best color for TTs, hands down. Aren't most of the Porsche promo picks for the TT yellow? Red is too...immature for most TT owners, I would say, but looks great on a less serious car, like the Boxster. Hey, that is MY combo.
Look out on a track, or at a picture of a bunch of Porsches. The reds and yellows all stand out, the rest just blend.
All opinion, of course.
