Best tires for stock 18 wheels?

OK. So I went too far. 20,000 miles and had a flat. I thought that I was watching the tread on the rear wheels (which were still fair), but the tread wore down on the very inside edge right down to the cord. I didn't see it. Flat.

Are the new PS2s the tire of choice now for stock 18" 996TT wheels?
Although I do DE track events, I would only use the PS2s when it rains. I have Michelin Pilot Sport Cups for dry DE days.

Question 2 - When I remove the air from the spare tire (donut), do they return to the small size or is the tire a one time use tire?

Yes, the spare does magically folds itself back to original size in my 03. I am glad you are alright, as Arling said recently, always check the inner wall of the rear tire.

I have Bridgestone SO-2A's on my turbo S and so far I like them. I am sure that PS2 ribs are just as good.

Have used pilot cup and slicks for track, p zero asym and conti sc 2 for street. I actually like the contis better (and no it is not b/c I live near Charlotte). They wore longer than the pirellis, didn't chunk like the sport contact (0ne) and were all around quieter.
