AMS K24 test
Ok, for some1 who has the K24/16G and was thinking of upgrading to the K24/18G can you tell me this?
The upgrade from 16G to 18G is about $1,300. What is the cost of the Billet16s in comparision to that upgrade? I know you can sell ghe K24/16G so I'd be willing to subtract that off the cost for the new Billet.
So in the end what is the cost difference between the 2 and what gain in HP/TQ do you get for that cost difference?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, I thought the stock X50 wasa K24/16G. But the rest is still valid. If I spend the $ to upgrade the wgs and bar springs on the K24 what is the cost difference and HP/Tq gain for that $ for the 16Billet?
When you take the time to tell me what I gain in HP/TQ for the price difference let me also ask you this...
Did you guys use the same wheel in both turbos? Did the same company design both wheels?

Stock X50 runs straight K24 turbos, where as the "normal" turbo runs K16 units. The typical K16 hybrids are usually k16/16g and K24s are turned into k24/18g (sometimes 20g). For you, it is probably easiest to just upgrade to the 18g or 20g compressor, as I am unaware of the a set of k24s bring on the used market, and you would have to pay a core chage since you are not sending in k16s for rebuild.

But yes, for some1 who has the K24 to begin w/ it seems more cost effective to just upgrade then buy the 16Billet.
I do understand that the K24 w/ 1 bar srpings, 18G and wgs can be a very effective turbo especailly for the upgrade cost if you already have them.
What is a “straight K24 "? Is it a K24/24G? I am a little confused to be honest. That is why I thought the X50 ran a K24/16G and the upgrade was to a 18G or a 20G.

Your most cost effective approach by far would be to convert your OEM K24's to K24/18G's.
