Pirelli now makes a 315/25/19??

I was looking on Tire Rack and just noticed what appears to be a new offering from Pirelli in this size. Perhaps it was there all along and I just missed it? Has anyone had any experiences with Pirelli in this size?

Pirelli PZero Rosso Asimmetrico

They look to be "Special Order".

oh pal stay AWAY from Pirelli Pzero A's... Their 18s are quite possibly the WORST tire I have ever had to use. I've had four cars with them stock in the past 4 years and on each car they totally sucked in comparison to any other tire that I replaced them with. Oh and they are noisy as heck, grip is not as good in the dry as any other tire (bar Contis) and they last less than any other tire. I wouldn't mind if the performance was good but they spin like **** on my turbo, my XJR, XKR etc...

yeah, i really don't think pirelli's have had any good tire sine the P7, ala coutach era!! lol. ever since, they have been living off of the name alone, and geez, SO many people have the misconception that they make good tires! they are the first to let go at CLOSE to the limit, and without any warning! SNAP! gone.

heard mix review for the Rosso. i had them on the SL55 & yes they were pretty easy to spin, but the ride wasn't too bad.

I've had both the Rosso and the PS2, and I've no complaints about the Rosso's... track or street. They may not have the ultimate grip, but they yielded a communicative setup with minimal wear. No complaints... fwiw.

PS.

I assume that you'll be running 235/35-19 in the front. And if that's the case, I really don't see the point in going with a 315 in the rear... imo, there's already too much of a rear-grip bias.

I'd go with a wider front before going any larger than a 305/25-19 rear. And with a 305-25-19, a 11" rear wheel width is plenty wide.

I've had Pzero Asimetricos and Pzero Rossos. The Rossos are much nicer than Asimetricos. I believe they have completely different construction. I think 997's come with 305/30-19 Rossos OEM.

I will step back and say that the Rossos are indeed the first improvement pirelli has made. Think about how old the Asimetrico technology is though.. We're talk over 10 years!

I never went out on the track with my 19's except once and I swore I'd never do it again. I had 295/19 Conti's in the back and it was oversteering allover the place. On the street, I'd be hardpressed to notice a difference between 315's versus 295's. That experience was enough to get me over any ideas of going with 19's.

I have used the Michelin PS2's at two track events on my 19's over my Brembo GT brakes and will say they are great. I had the Yokohamas but their section width is nearly 1/2 inch less than the Michelins for the same 315/19/25 size.

The Michelins were actually fabulous on the track. Very predictable and sticky as well. I also like the larger tread blocks on the outer shoulder..

Incidentally, I am loooking at the Fikse FM10 Classics in 18's. Does anyone know if they will fit over the Brembo GT brakes in the front?

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice. What front matches the 305/25-19 (if you happen to know off-hand)?
