Bad links. I am guessing you've linked to threads you've deleted/moderated.

(Hard to keep track of what is public and what isn't.)

It's your show, you guys should run it how IB wants it run.

We'll be here until we find somewhere else or not. All a personal decision. That's how 6speed began, and teamspeed, and renntrack...

I can list a lot of threads that are far more useful to this section than that is. But it's up there every year.

We've been asking why the weight loss thread isn't a sticky for over a year now. It was a sticky then got bumped by 60-130, 1/4 mile etc threads. The brake thread was a sticky, then not a sticky. The picture thread was a sticky, then not a sticky.

There's no arguing what takes priority around here, but can we at least get ONE USEFUL THREAD AS A FREAKING STICKY!!!!!!

Maybe not officially Scott, but we know which mods spend most of their time where. And it's almost always an owner of the model that spends the most time in that section. So in essence that's what it ends up being.

We have asked for the weight loss thread to be a sticky for the longest, there are a lot of posts in there asking why it's not. It gets bumped all the time so it won't get lost again (and not just by me) It gets so far down the list it's actually hard to find sometime. Probably the single most universally useful thread in this forum that can't keep a sticky. The fact that it's not, and looking at what usually is speaks for itself here.
Dez-

Bob answered the question. I guess another mod took the stickies down because they were not getting new posts. In my opinion, the weight loss thread should absolutely be a sticky and not taken down.

I'll resticky it and if it gets taken down, please let me know and I'll discuss it with the other mods.

The thing that really annoys me though, is that as angry and passionate about the stickies that you seem to be...you never ONCE PM'd me about them. Not once.

Instead, you vent your frustrations publicly in this thread, rather than taking 10 seconds to send me a PM when they were initially taken down. That BS if you ask me.

it is interesting Scott...I have never been asked about a sticky for a "weight loss" thread...I'm assuming it's car related...and as long as I have been a moderator I have never removed a sticky, even though I have stuck quite a few...I wonder if there is some automatic housecleaning because I don't know anyone that has the time to go look at stickies and see if no one has posted in a while for the purposes of taking them down...they do use up some server capacity so maybe IB has a housecleaning schedule...I'll ask the admins

Not trying to be a jerk, but you're literally talking about a few bytes of space per message. (As in 1 Terabyte = ~1,100,000,000,000 Bytes = $80 at Best Buy.) I understand the additional cost of maintaining data storage beyond the hard drive, but want to point out that a single message costs almost nothing to host. The fact that the message is still logged somewhere actually means that stickies require no additional space. (Perhaps a flag somewhere, in which case we're talking bits, and there are 8 bits in a byte. ) The only real argument against a sticky is that it clutters the homepage and is no longer valuable. If the board software requires a sticky expiration date, you can set it to 1/1/2100. I don't think any of the current members on the board will object when that sticky expires in 90 years. (We'll all be dead.)

I think what everyone is alluding here....but I'll just say it....is that you should stay over on Rennlist.

Rennlist isn't the site even though HC may be there?
The other site is completely different then this place in more ways then 10. But like I said, I like them both.
I like going fast in a straight line, it gets me to the next curve quicker!

Are you still salty because I called you a human ballwasher? Comon man, that was two weeks ago, I thought we would be best of friends by now. I'm sure there are some posts about Switzer for you to exalt somewhere. Get to it.

Matter of fact, how about you retreat to the GT-R section where you belong. Switzer has threads there too, so you'll be right at home.

Not a bit, but not surprised you're still pissed I was right.

Just saying you belong over on rlist with the rest of the wannabes. With your reputation around here, I'm sure the moderators will help you find your way back there too.
