Nope, the 7:22 was the original ACR with the crap gearing, which is why he was on the rev limiter the whole lap. The ACR-X has much better gearing and I'm pretty sure the new ACR is based on that. But it at the least has better gearing than the first ones.

Here are the "Cars" that beat it... As far as I am concerned, only 1 of those Cars could really be called a road car. The GT2 RS is the closest of the bunch to being a real street Car that can be driven in all weather and to the grocery store.

 

The Gt2 just has ELITE written all over it Whether 996,997, or RS..

You as a modded 996 GT2 racer may find this fact pleasant:

Back in 2005, Patrick Simon drove a modded 996 GT2 7.15.6 IN TRAFFIC and the track was more bumpier that time (now there is new asphalt helping in some sections...)

Thanks... there's always information out there that is new to me.. This is a fun fact that I didn't know.

 

Playing devils advocate here, but if that is in fact factual (please state a source if you have one because I'd like to verify as well), then the 997.2 Turbo going 10 seconds faster would put it in the 7:28 range ( on regular Dunlop Tires), but would then mean it's faster than all the GT3's. Even on a set of N-spec sport cups, no telling how fast it would be.

Just a thought.
