I like the Panasonic and Fujitsu. Have both in 50", The Panasonic is a bit brighter, the fujitsu is a bit more natural on the pictures. I think both the Pana and Fujitsu makes their own components and so does NEC ? Everyone else is using their components but reworked ?

Both Fujitsu and Panasonic are made in Japan.

I was thinking about the 50" Elite, Mitsubishi 5010, or the Pioneer 5030HD......

Guys - There is only one answer, stop your opinions and go to AVscience forum.

Ken and Stephan - I think I can get into the cool car cool theater club. Don't have any shots yet because I'm not comsetically finished but I can shoot it if anyone questions my credibility.

Theatre: (I also have family room and bedroom systems)
Marantz VP12S1, 110" Firehawk, Denon 4803, Denon DVD9000, JVC 3000 DVHS, Samsung SIR-T165, Sony HD200, Micro Seiki turntable, M&K 7.1ab system, 150's front, 150 tripoles sides amd rear and two MX5000 subs. (yes Ken, I like big bass too). Had the room tuned by an acoustician and am waiting for panels.

You guys would have loved the Road America Cart race on HD net. Man was that great.

I agree with Mansour. I've had the Pioneer 5030HD for about 2 years now and it's an amazing TV. Viewable from all angles and in any light conditions.

Ken: I have the Stewart Firehawk, the screen they replaced the Grayhawk with to get higher gain from DLP's. It really looks nice but you still need near 100% light blocking to get that "Wow" picture. The Firehawk has about a 1.3 gain versus .9 for the Grayhawk and has better stray light rejection. Wonderful for DLP's.

I'll shoot the picts if you want but I've got cloth over the windows ... remote blinds on order and haven't painted yet because I'm waiting for the sound insullation panels. It'll look like s**t compared to yours and Stephans (but it does sound damn good).

Ghetto Home Theatre.

I told you it was ugly but it's functional. Sharkster will love this!

Like I said, I have power blinds on order for the whole basement, have acoustic panels on oder and will paint and finish the trim work when the panes come in. I will then have the room retuned when everything is in.

Tim

Ok Stephan you made me laugh out loud.

I make many of my own cables and as you can tell, I have everything hooked up right now just to test everything and get it all dialed in as I get near the end. Now, as my wife will attend, once it is funtional, my progress drops rapidy. Once it works well, I'm not particularly concerned about cosmetics. Same thing with my car, performance over appearence.

So, do I get my cool theatre club decoder ring or do I have to finish the cosmetics first?
