Removing the MAF - What Tool???

So, Ive been on the board for a while now and read all kinds of posts about cleaning the MAF. You would think somebody somewhere would have mentioned that there is some weird little nib on the bottom of the torx socket that stops you from being able to insert the driver to unscrewing the thing.

Where did you guys (who have removed your MAF) get the tool to be able to do that?

Mike01996TT is infamous around these parts
I believe they are called safety torx. I got mine at home depot since they were the closest. Sears has them too. I did have to buy a whole screw driver with a bunch of bits.

OOooops You were talking about tamper-proof torx bit. You can get a set at Canadian tire in the auto section not in the tool section. There is a set for less than $15.00 made by powerbuilt. Remember it is on a special rack for special car tool like puller , brake bleeders etc etc.......

Great find Adam - but I'm in Canada and there is no Harbor Freight/ Ace here. After shipping it would result in a higher cost than the Canada Tire stuff. Good alternative for US guys though.

its called a security torx. Almost every decent car has these on the MAF. you should definitely get a set of these for the tool box.
