Help, Big Fuel Leak!

Hello

When I started my car this morning, I noticed a strong fuel smell, upon inspection I see a large puddle of fuel on the floor. I can't determine where it is coming from exactly, so I need the help from the experts on here! Here are a few pics, it appears its leaking from the drivers side of the engine:

Fuel filter? Fuel line? TIA!

just wondering are you sure it's not coolant? Does it smell sweet? It looks like the green coolant that porsche used on those cars. Also fuel tends to evaporate and not stay like that which is why I ask...

That looks like oil... it drips down if the oil filter is not tight...
Also, the oil turbo feed line is below that... id thats loose it will leak too..

If you're handy:
Go get Mechanic mirror.(one with telescopic arm and mirror at the end.) Use it to see hidden area follow all fuel line. If it is hard to tell, let someone turn key on but no start while you watch that area. Fuel pump will work for 3-4 second and you might see the leak.
If you're not handy:
Tow your baby to the shop please.
GL.

Guessing coolant. dealer fill is a pinkish color. My engine's out and coolant leaked everywhere, looked just like those photos, like a red ATF leak (but not).

but gas does have a distinct smell... and like mark says evaporates.

it's June 2010! get an oil change =)

smdubovsky is infamous around these parts
Judging by the gunk on the bottom of the motor (and the oil drips clearly visible), he's had an oil leak for some time...

But if he says its gas I'll believe him that its probably gas. C'mon, it doesn't evaporate THAT quick. Plenty of time to get out and take pics. Plus it looks like its cleaning off/eating though the oil sludge like any solvent would do. Going to have to dig from the top side to find it no matter what.

FWIW, Also looks like the oil has been attacking the water line seal (though there are 2 o-rings down inside that may still be fine.)

The pic where the motor is showing - that light brown liquid is oil... not gas. I've seen enough leaks like these to recognize oil when I see it. why doesn't he put his finger on that and touch it... it will not burn or bite...
with that said, he may have 2 issues... and the one on the ground is probably not oil.. thats more like gas.... water type vs. thick oil ...
just my opinion
mark
