paintshop is infamous around these parts
hi guys

long time no post!

ok after a long back anf forth menatlly and research im shooting for a used 2001-2003 996 TT for MAY of next summer, i have about 20k saved up...my original plan was to get a modena or gallardo, if i would go with those id be pressed for cash and would start saving up from scratch again. Im going to have to pass on those as im going to look into real estate and other investment oppertunities. Im more then happy to rent, i live in CT and dnt think im going to buy a home there

Good stuff you're 1\2 way there to buy outright !
I know alot of people that have owened and gone back to renting just due to the taxes and other headaches and repair bills of owning a house.
I currently own mine but I can feel where you're coming from especially if your area is not the ideal place you want to settle down.
GL in your search and future !

or you could cheat a little and find a nice 4-4.5% loan from a friendly credit union and drive it THIS summer. Just saying.... Especially if you can make the 20K cash balance for purchase you still need to save make a higher return than the 4-4.5%.

element256 and I agree on the own vs rent. I also know those who've sold and gone back to renting. The only issue is it's not yours. I own, but raised a family and the investment hasn't been bad at all.

I went to a local credit union and got a 3.9%, I'm dumping money into the house like BP is oil into the gulf. owning is good if you're going to have family and later maybe turn it into a profit for a new place. Plus obama was giving 8k for buying a house and giving another 5k+ for green "stuff" or energy savers.

thanks guys

my orinal post was sorta vauge, was kinda nervous about laying down a potoential plan, i do alot of lurking so ive seen some convos go bad.....

yes im 1/2 way there if i go full force i can probably have the whole 40-50k ready to buy but that will be in oct-dec months...i have a 2004 zhp 33ci that i can sell that i bought 3 years ago and use that cash too since i own it.

I will continue to read and learn from you boys and ultimatley make a move...for now im learning the 996tt as i never owned one, im doing ALOT of homework on it....so far i like the direction of my descision to get one and shake that ferrar/gallardo fever, sine the porche is still a dream car of mine since i was 5 years old lol...my ultimate wet dream car would be a murci but i like the piece of mind of being realistic
