6-speed vs tiptronic
Settle down snapper face. Are you going to make it back to the TX mile in Oct.?
Absolutely. 100% natural (other than a creatine and protein).
I don't lift that much weight anymore (I've stopped doing powerlifting type workouts completely), but I still squat and deadlift with a respectable amount of weight and can do 6 weighted dips with 3 plates and 12 weighted chins with 1-plate at 180 lbs.
I used to compete in arm-wrestling as well in the 165 lb class. I was actually quite good.

Probably no for Texas.
If I can fly down, that would be the most I can do, but not likely. Getting married, honeymoonin took up all my vacation time...Might try to make it to Maine again with the bike.
Back on track...
Ken,
For comparisons sake, I pulled up a 0-150 run with my 24/18's in March. With out subtracting the .23 for the 1' roll out this is what she did.. at 1.5 Bar
0-60 3.5
0-100 6.84
0-130 10.37
0-150 13.58

You have to have been in an MKB tip car to appreciate how good the box is. It is night and day to the std tip.
Before my EBC played up at the weekend, I ran @ 1.3 bar
0-60 3.4 ( I have done 3.09)
0-100 6.6
0-130 10.5
0-150 14.29
1/4 mile 134.20mph @ 11.1 - lots of improvement to come on that.
and that was on a very slight incline, and an extremely dusty.
I am considering have the TCU upgraded for shift times but to be fair it shifts so quick now anyway.
That said with a sach 890 clutch on a manual might be a cheaper option.
Sadly due to EBC small issue, i wasn't able to improve the 60-130 time because I only at 0.8 bar boost. There is another chance to run next month.

ha, ha.
Scott, what do you think about 'Smith Machines' ? I stopped doing squats altogether for several years. Do they put substantially less pressure on the knees? I really liked the overall strength I would gain from squats.I weigh 270 lbs and am looking for ways to continue training with out screwing up my knees further ( and be able to drive my manual Turbo).
Since the Smith machine forces you to move upwards and downwards in a a fixed path, it creates a strength imbalance in the muscles surrounding the knee. It also produces high shear forces on knee ligaments. Free squats, single-leg squats or dumbbell lunges allow you to move up and down in unrestricted paths, which strengthens the smaller, supporting mucles that surround the knee joint and achieve a balance in strength throughout the joint.
I'm 40 years old now, and have been squatting heavy since I was 15. I've always focused on free squats, DB lunges and single leg squats and have never had knee problems. I've also never used wraps.
Greg - unless you have severely damaged knees, I bet that a proper 6-week routine of single-leg sqauts will achieve a balance of strength in your knee area get rid of your pain.

FYI; Smith machines will also cause problems in the shoulders when used for bench and military press for the same reasons as I explained above.
Paulie,
I did compete RAW (no knee wraps, bench shirts, or squat suits). Best lifts at under 181 lbs were:
-365 bench
-525 squat
-535 deadlift
I held the WA state record in the RAW deadlift for a little while and also tied the american record in the strict curl (NASA Powersports) at 175 lbs at a bodyweight of 170.8.
I used to do 20-rep squats of 315 all the time (and partials with 635). No belt or wraps. Never injured myself, but would throw-up routinely.

Thats strong man,Scott at that time you had more boost then your fast GT2.
I think Smith machines are horrible. The only time I've ever had issues with my knees was when I was using the Smith machine for long periods of time.
