Brockway stays on

I finally got around to permanently installing the Brockway. Fun little gadget with a lot of info. Real time ignition angle, A/F for both banks, Intake air temp, Coolant temp, etc...The coolest thing is probably the shift light.

The issue is that the Brockway stays on after you turn off the car. The installer said it does turn off eventually (maybe after 40 minutes). It can't be installed incorrectly.. it just plugs into the OBD2 port.

Any ideas?

We are looking into this as it eats the battery life. Should I activate the shift light?

We? do you make this? Not sure what "activate the shift light" means. It works fine. I set it at 6500 RPM

My biggest concern is that it attracts attention. Don't really want to bait people into looking into the car if you know what I mean.

@Madness I'm pretty sure we can change the shift light with any LED. Is it a 12V unit?

dont think it's too hard to splice out the -/+ power wires and add a switch. cant remember LED specs but believe it's on the instruction manual. Im going to make a new pod to house mine and put it behind tinted layer of plastic.

We, IE my mechanic and I, are undecided about activating the shift light....you say it looks cool, so that would be a yes then, correct?

Definitely turn it on. It's the most useful piece day to day. I had mine mounted in one of the dead switches in the horseshoe. Works beautifully. It is a directional LED and is very bright so don't aim right at your eyes. You'll see it just in fine in your peripheral vision.

That is the nature of the Brockway/Bosch "handshake". I am told by Eric Brockway that the ECU lets go after a period of time and there is no way to change it...

Thanks John. I'm going to install a switch for those rare occasions when i don't want to attract any attention when parking her.

I guess a piece of cardboard will do just fine as well

So is it agreed that in one of the dead switches in the horseshoe is the best place for the shift light?

I just unplug mine when I don't want the display to stay on. Only takes a second.

I am going to mount my shift light this weekend, I meant to do it when I installed the unit but got lazy.

its kind of ghetto but will update with a new design asap, small triagular pod, colormatched wrapped leather with LED under tinted plastic or glass, mounted on just behind the steering wheel.

I love my Brockway !!!

It does stay on for quite a while... easy to just unplug, tho I don't bother.

Eric B is very responsive whenever I have Q's also.... simply fantastic product and every turbo owner should have one !!

how much energy is that taking? Is it bad for the battery? haven't installed mine yet.
