Install a 997 Turbo Brembo calipers in a 996 Turbo?

Hi,

I want to install in my 996 Turbo a 997 turbo Brembo brakes 6.

It is possible?

The front calipers fit directly or I need an adaptor?

Best Regards,
Vitor S.

You need GT2/3 (997 or 996) long mounting bolts for calipers. They are about $5 each. You need 8. Also, you will need 997 turbo rotors and direct bolt on Enjoy. Thats all.

Nope, You really don't want to do this. Before someone pipes up that "he's a noob" you might want to contact the 6speeds rep from Brembo (Think his name is Mark) and they do NOT recommend the 997TT calipers. They are not the correct bore for the proper bias.

The proper master cylinder and ABS would be required to insure that you have the proper brake performance... A guy that was previously here and got banned named Mikelly had a very extensive Brake thread that explained all this... Might want to search on it...

All this is false. I have them on my car Not only that, the 996 turbo itself came with these calipers when order with PCCB's with the same master cylinder etc. Look up the part numbers, its the same for master cylinder.

Well regardless what the master cylinder number is, the rep from brembo stated that the caliper piston volume on the 997 caliper was not the same... ARI have you run your car at the track with them? Have you pushed the system to the limites for 30 minutes at a time?

I wouldn't assume all is well just because they bolt up to the strut up-rights...

I don't know if Ari has, but F1Crazydriver has. Here's his thread from Thunderhill.

Utter rubbish... get your Brembo boy on here and I will get Steve from Brembo Motorsport UK... I run a 380mm front and a 350mm rear and my brakes take a pounding... I have never heard so much nonsense!!!

Page 8 starts it, page 9 Mark from Brembo explains further, and Page 10 mid way down he spells it out...

Only know what the experts who "make" the calipers here claim... Beyond that I'm just learning, just like the rest of you guys...

NH...

That to me only reads brake bias, which is only normal... it's so simple that even pad compounds (which he actually states) can be the issue/case... No problem as long as it clears which it does... absolutely no problem whatsoever!!!
