again I dont know much about this topic, but he swears by it and uses it in his race cars and swears that it better then all other brands he has tried so far... he also uses it in customers cars when doing oil changes and they find they get better gas milage and the car seems to run smoother..

Does anyone of you guys know the oil brand BARDAHL? It seems to be a very "special" oil, with a proprietary molecular blend that builds a very strong and friction-less film on the moving parts.
Their best oil is sold for nearly 40usd per quart here.

Is this the stuff we're talking about? Here's another opinion http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...ht-it-was.html

Agree on purple... I'd sooner run snake oil....

I have had 3 race cars set up for drag 1/4 mile from 14 sec to 9 sec range and have only used CASTROL Oil on all. Now for my stock street cars, I have always used the factory recommended oil, including Mobile 1 (when specified) and have never had a problem with either.

I run Motul 300V 15w50 in mine based on recommendations from a local tuner

I'll wait for the Mobil 1 racing 0w-50 oil to be available in europe. Otherwise I'll try Castrol 5w-40 or Valvoline 5w-50.
Anyway, I'll keep my service intervals below 3-4000 miles or 1 year, and I think this is the most important factor after all.
If someone of you guys wants to use a racing oil, keep in mind that those oils require more frequent changes, because they have less detergent agents, so if you run them for too many miles you are building sludge in the engine. And, since they have high % of zinc and Phosp. they can be dangerous for your cats.
