am guessing i should get the mobil 1 outa my motor and go to what ?? i do run past 1 bar.

Wow...That sounds pretty crappy to me....Redline is a good premium oil....And even if it was not as good oil as Mobil 1 ,,3,000 miles with any synthetic oil doesnt sound right to me for a faliure do to oil??....IMO...

Well what turbo is Steve running? ball bearing? They are less effected by oil types then journal bearings.

I have to update on this. I used mobile 1 up until last September were I put in royal purple 10 w 30 synthetic with one quart of slick 50... The car car goes on the lift in garage for the winter upgrades , rear bearings, rear coilovers, new trans mount, k16 billet turbo upgrades... Since I put the purple and slick in in September the cold start rattle is no more. The car runs so smooth .
