This thing is at a good price point but to me it looks like the front end has a collision history., Look at all the lines wherte the front bumper meets the fenders, tight in the back by the marker lights and bigger gap near the front. Right bumper where it meets the hood has a small gap and left side appears to have a larger gap.
Anyone ever seen this car before in person or is anyone in the area?
Thanks in advance for any help or insight that you can provide.

looks like the doors were painted too as they seem to be a different shade than the rockers and 1/4 panels.I bet it was a substantial enough hit to push the front fenders into the doors.I would stay away.
Could it be possible that the bumper has just been misaligned during fitting?
Is there any adjustment in the bumper - Or is it just off?
Also worth noting is the AC module had a faulty display

Taken directly from the eBay listing: "This vehicle still falls under the manufacturer's warranty backed by Porsche." I don' think that any '01's have any factory/CPO warranty remaining. I would ask them for clarification on this point, as it seems to be false.
There are many 996tt's on the market. With a front bumper that has asymmetric gaps suggesting repaired front end damage, possible half-shade lighter doors from repaint (although pics with fluorescent light can play lots of tricks), and an obvious oversell/falsehood in the listing, I would keep on looking for one with no questions.

RUN!!! Far away.
Whoever had this painted is color blind.
There are 3 different silver used for 996 and they have used all on this car. Original rear part looks like polar silver which has lot of blue in it, then the front is arctic silver which is just plain silver, but the doors are one shade in between which is super rare - or they tried to blend it. Also hood and fenders and bumper don't match. It's not the camera bc it's present from almost every angle.
My buddy has a Carrera in this no arctic and not polar silver color and he had the biggest pain in the world to get the paint shop to get it right bc it's so unusual.
Apart from driving around a car that looks horrendous from every angle except maybe underneath, if they same level of attention has been put to the car mechanically.
It's a disaster job. Run far away. There are plenty good cars that have been cared for in the price range.

I looked a the add again and even the free auto check thing they put up says the car has one reported incident. Hmmmm let me guess a front end bang up.

Thanks for the link....
The guy at International Car Center turned out to be a Grade A terd. Not the most honest of shops I would have to say. Not only are they asking over 5 grand more for a crashed car that they just bought they can not even be honest about its history.
I see what you're talking about. I think it's a safe bet that between that and the color mismatch the car has been in some sort of accident. I'd walk away from it.
The second Porsche in CA looks like a serious candidate though.

Engineguy .. well.. you got some advice... time to take that and walk I would say... There are more where they came from... Try to get a car from a Porsche OWNER - preferably one that has been frequenting on some of the forums and see what they have to sell. You will be better off. Good luck...

Edit: Google the VIN...and use the 'cache' view to see old web pages...regular sherlock holmes
Anyone notice right under "Vehicle Specifics for 2001 Porsche 911" it says, "Accidents: Issue Found"?

What you did not know it was the same car, I thought you did and that is why you sent it to me. To funny

Yeah the first guy from the add you linked sold it to the dealership in the add that I have linked now... But for only over 5g more this time around. Hmmmm thats a good profit for a porsche bought off e-bay then sold a month later on e-bay.
I am budgeting around 60g for a car and then enough to do my 700hp kit and the complete suspension. I have seen a few nice cars and my wallet failed to commit due to the uncertainty I have with the economy come this spring.
Ahhh yeah
No, no- I knew it and that was why I posted it (of course
)...I was replying to the other person in the thread who said 'the second car posted from CA looked good'... (which is why I quoted him in my response...)
I wouldn't begrudge a 5k asking profit... just wouldn't buy that car.
