Replacing short shifter to OEM

hello,

my car has a short shifter , do u prefer replacing it with the OEM one? i just got the car and the owner didnt have the OEM part, where can i find it online and what is it called exactly.???thanks

why?? unless your useing the NEW 997 shifter..... ya gotta have really long arms to reach third and 5th with the oem shifter just my 2 cents

OEM shifter is crap. If your aftermarket shifter has a notchy feel and you don't like it, the 997 stock shifter or 997 short shift are both precise, smooth options.

the only reason is that im afraid of having some issues with the gear? will it or not? i dont mean pop-out issue but maybe sumthin else or im wrong?? would you reccomend the 997 tubo shifter?? does it have any issues or sumthin? id like ur reccomendation and experience guys

If you're having issues then either the shifter linkage is loose, something is wrong with your tranny, or some other part isn't working. Otherwise it should work fine. My factory short shifter on my Turbo works like butter. Never a problem.

so overall would you reccomend having a 997 shifter on ??? im not sure what type of shifter it has right now , ill try to find out and tell u all, thanks guys

ur factory short shifter is the 997 or 996 original one??

I removed my short throw B&M and installed a factory 997 turbo shifter (not the short throw one) I like it.
