Ran a GT-R at the track

Had a GT-R in the same run group this last DE. The GT-R was putting out some dark smoke between shifts, so not sure if it was stock or modded. He was on Proxes (sp) slicks and I was on Hoosier R6.

We were pretty much the same down the straight as far as power. I had a little better line going into a few of the turns and reeled him in. Finally passed him near the last lap of the run session. So I hope I kept the 996TT name proud!

That was pretty fun! Also had some Porsche Instructors from the driving school up there giving rides in the new Boxster Spyder. Those guys were fast! I was chasing one and kept up pretty well, but for being on street tires, those guys were hauling! Skill has a lot to do with speed!!!

Nice Chad, did you notice much difference between last time you went and now as far as the mods you've done are concerned?

Yeah a pretty big difference. Ran the 1st session on street tires and I could tell they didn't have enough grip. So put the Hoosiers on and that made a big difference.

Now if I can learn how to drive, it would be great!

I was going to borrow my friend's (tvr-4) GoPro camera, but kept forgetting... Will get it on video next time!

Hey Chad, I thought I saw your car at the Kentucky DE at Putnam. Saw the GT-R too - loved his license plate: "Godzira" You were in a different run group so I didn't get to drive with you guys. Great event with a lot of really nice cars. Are you going to try to make the event in September?

Hey! Yeah I remember your car. Were you in the instructor group? I probably can't do the Sept event. My wife is riding me pretty hard about how much I have spent on the car. I may try to come up and volunteer or something!
