Are the front seatbelts for '01 996tt different from '02+ 996tt?

Hopefully someone who has already done this would know right away.

I am looking to replace the black seatbelts in my 2001 turbo coupe with Porsche OEM Guards Red seatbelts. But it seems that the red seatbelts are only for models 2002+

Does anyone know if something changed in the seatbelt design between MY 2001 and 2002 for the turbos? Can I use what Porsche lists for 2002+ belts in my 2001 turbo?

As for parts number, this is what we found listed for 2002+ cars:

For Front Left, can use either of the following:
99680398104n13
99780303302n13
99780303305n13

For Front Right, seems like we can only use:
99680398208n13

If someone has installed the red seatbelts in an 01 tt coupe, can you confirm what part numbers you use?

Can I still use the 02 belt on an 01 car (without making use of the pretensioner feature) or is it a no-go?

I have no clue. But, it may be worth a shot to find some used 2002 or later belt assemblies and test fit. I'm sure there has to be someone here that has a pair in their garage. If you do, please post the results. Many people have asked this question.

From what I have heard is there are pyrotechnic pretensioners in the 2002+ and they are not compatible with the pre 2002 systems. I have no idea what would happen if you installed the pyrotechnic belts in a pre 2002 but I have a feeling they will not have the same mounting bracket.

I would love to get them to work, so if anyone wants to be a guinea pig and buy them and try them, they always sell in the aftermarket for not much less then new ones.

I have an '01 and replaced with the 02+ blue belts, they looked identical when I did the R&R, no need for a bracket, was a direct replacement. I would be interested if other people have different experiences, I am overseas and cant verify part numbers right now.
