Modified OEM head/cams vs GT3 Head/cams
Modified OEM head/cams vs GT3 Head/cams
Lets say a car has 3.8 w/ported OEM head, bigger valves, regrind cams and gt35 vs another car has also 3.8 w/ GT3 Head/cams and gt35
What kind of hp/tq differance we should see?? is it really worth it extra cash on the gt3 head and cams??

I have gt3 world challenge cup head with actual gt3 cams along with 35rs but with stock displacement.
Heads and cams are a little too big fort set up.
The other way is to redo a stock head and regromd stock cams to gt3 specs. That with a 3.8 works well
Boost for boost it's probably another 100 hp.
I really think that a good rod jon wig headstuds is just about right and one can put down 850rwhp without a problem and that's on stock displacement.

So most of +1000rwhp has ported heads and regrind cams?

BTW....iWhat is McKenzie heads???
I have CNC ported stock heads with bigger valves that out flowed the GT3 heads i had previously by 15% but was really hard to decipher the difference in real world results......for now.I will probably see the benefits down the road with a larger setup.
Mckenzie is a company that does the porting/valve job, etc etc.... on stock heads and or whatever you send...
99% of guys use stock heads and some variant of stock cams and or versions in spec with gt3...
this is my gt3 race head and cams... and its on the car for 4 years... however, with a 3.6L the cams come on too late and thus I don't have the most desirable 1/4 set up....

The 996tt heads can be opened up with larger valves/ports. The 996tt cam housings will not accept as large (radical) a cam as the GT3 cam housings will.
GT3 cams are not really the best cams for a turbo motor. They were designed for a NA motor and the lift and duration is not ideal.
