Rich's Polar Silver TT at Laguna Seca
Rich's Polar Silver TT at Laguna Seca
Here's where all of us TT owners _should_ be, over at Laguna Seca (only I'm too chicken with walls). Rich was there on Monday and has some sweet pix of his Polar Silver (great color btw!) TT. This is of course in a "pre-modded" state (we're gonna turn her into a nasty SOB):

Hey Jauder -
I kept an eye out for you, but didn't see ya. Next time? I'm looking fwd to going back there now that I'm STARTING to learn a couple of the lines. 2 minute lap is my goal....(baby steps)
b/t/w, did you used to work at Transmeta? I used to know a guy by your name there.

Umm, yes I used to work at Transmeta. What's your full name?
I was not able to go because my car was not aligned and the car did not come together in time (other issues). That said, it looks like Green Flag is the next day to do LS so I'm probably doing that.

Hey Alex - nope - you didn't mention that. Pretty cool! One of the few, I guess. Always good to hear that they are having some success out there. She better stock up on inventory soon though. They'll be announcing their new business plan shortly, and they're rumored to be shying away from the chip business. They definitely go into some kick a** products though (as you have attested to!).
Thanks again for posting the pic's (above). Glad they caught me (almost) hitting the Apex on 8a. Got a black flag the first time down the corkscrew b/c I went a little too high on the rumple strips on that turn. :-) Can you say "reality check"?
The car behaved well, but proved that I'm probably due a heavy-duty clutch soon (doesn't engage well when I'm flat out, shifting 3rd to 4th), and the car had too much roll, so PSS9's or Motons are most likely in order.

It's too bad that they're not going to continue their stuff in the chip biz... Honestly they/you guys really did pioneer a lot of the low-power consumption stuff for the other two big guys (Intel/AMD). Sort of like S3 did a lot of good in terms of technology in the 3d graphics scene...
LOL I can't get that corkscrew thing right. Not even in GTA3 lol...
PS Motons or PSS9s
Gotta do Motons!
Laguna was definitely an experience. Of course, it's the only track I've been on..... The whole "wall" thing wasn't as bad as I expected, reallly. I never really felt that they were too close. It was more a matter of other head-trip things at that course that got me, such as on main straightaway where you can go flat out for a while. If you've got *****, you can get the car up to about 120-130. The problem is - there's a crest in the middle of the straightaway, which means that as you come to the last 1/3 of the straightaway you can't see where you are going until you get there! Needless to say, I don't have *****, so I only took that section at about 100mph.
A buddy told me today that TrackMasters is hosting a day at Laguna on March 14. Could be your day..... Got Apex?
