I don't think the X50 has better 0 - 60 than non X50.
I clocked 3.875 in my 2001 non x50 - car had a chip and a passenger.

For the 996 Turbo with X50 --> Motor Trend October 2003 issue...0-60 3.7 sec., quarter mile in 11.9 at 119.9 mph.

These pics have been around for quite some time, and I seriously doubt the 997 Turbo is going to look like the TechArt monster in the first pic. Relax.
