Want to change your own plugs?

I just posted a DIY pictorial for changing your plugs/coils on Renntech. If you are more of a picture person, this should work well for you - you will certainly have everything you need if you use the writeup by ebaker and the pictures you find here: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?/tutorials/article/213-spark-plug-change-instrauction-pictures/.

Enjoy...

That's a SOP when overhauling a Porsche...maintenace procedures for these cars ( since 1970's ) were planned after ( or during ) a jolly evening @ Oktoberfest...

Hi guys - this is probably a good time to ask: I have heard that shops / dealerships do not remove the bumper cover to replace plugs. Apparently, with the car on a lift you can manage to get to all of them from below.

I have access to a lift and I was thinking of doing this job before too long. Can someone confirm / deny this?

Thanks,
Trevor

if you have a lift this is a very simple and straight forward job. tail lights and bumper come off in 10-15 minutes. intercoolers pop out easily and then you have access to the plugs. be careful with the connectors to the coils.

Trevor,

This is correct. Everybody goes to great extremes to change plugs and it is a lot of work. I did it on a lift in under one hour without removing anything. There is no need to remove bumpers and intercoolers, as I have also done in the past. With a lift, it's a quick, simple job. No need to remove anything. Huge difference!

Many Thanks!

This is great! Thank you, going to try this over the weekend instead of being scammed at the dealer.
