kwv3 and 996 suspension setup

Hello friends,

refreshing thread, I dont need advice one what to spend money on, sound familiar

I have recently purchased some kwv3 for my car and after speaking with my installer have decided to wait to install until I purchase a few more parts. So I have pretty much made my mind up, but since so many of you on here have already done this I thought I would solicit your thoughts. Am I going over board for a weekend toy or is there actually something else all things considered that I should buy since I plan on doing the following?

1. kwv3
2. rss dog bones
3. rss rear toe links
4. gmg front & rear sways ( even though the customer support seems abit shady from my initial dealings, read open to suggestions)
5. Mode camber plates

I think this list is pretty comprehensive considering my car is not a race car and I dont track it, although I would like to start.
So for your troubles, i am just looking for componets I might have over looked or good reasons for the componets I have selected are just not needed. I plan to have the car lowered to gt2 ride height and alignment specs. Appreciate the feedback, I just dont want to waste money if some of these parts are not needed or cheap out on the other hand if I over looked an important part.

None of that stuff is needed! As my dad would say.."Why you waste your money on that car, just change the oil and save your money."

I plan on doing pretty much the same setup, but plan to add the gt3 control arms with supporting bushing upgrades or the RSS new Tarmac control arms. Along with some JRZ's. As for the sway bar options, I'm not sure which ones I'm going with. I plan on taking it to the track a handle full of times a season.

These cars are pushing 10yrs old. Any suspension parts with rubber bushing / mounts will eventually need replacing. Especially if your tightening up the suspension system. If you plan to add more power down the road your car will be set to handle it.

Might want to add IMO:
1) Locking toe plates.
2) Front and rear adjustable drop links.
3) Pillowball mounts. Might as well put these on now since you are replacing the rear shocks with coilovers. Like PAGE said your pushing 10 years.
4) Contact Tarret Engineering for dust boots for the dog bones, toe links, etc. to keep the dirt out.

Back from the dead -- but did anyone do the KW V3 combo'd with Mode camber plates? I'm getting conflicting info on compatibility.

Thanks!
Henry

Look at the Champion suspension links, I myself like there design much more than everyone’s lock nut set up. I myself am doing what you are doing, that is mixing and matching pieces from several different tuners to get the stuff I want.
I am going to likely use Champions links and arms if they get there poop together with what I need, then I will use GMG's sway's, mono ***** and thrust arm bushings. Then to round it all out I will use a set of Ohlins 3 ways for suspension.
I have asked both GMG and Champion to get me some info and neither of them have come through yet with getting me what I wanted. I am not even slightly a patient man when it comes to chasing companies to give them my hard earned money so that fact has left me frustrated. I would hazard to say that if it was summer and I was waiting on these things for my car I would definitely shop around way more aggressively.

LOL thanks -- I *think* I figured it out. It takes me a while!! I am leaving stock top mounts in for the mean time, but adding GT3 LCAs to get the needed camber adjustments. When RSS adds the rear pillowballs I'll get both sets.

For handling, you'll be better off using GT3 control arms with shims to adjust camber (gets you wider track vs pulling in the top of the strut), then go KW V3.
KW V3 will also give you better range to adjust for street comfort if not doing track time for a while, since you can separately adjust compression and rebound.

So what I am getting at is, it's more important for the overall handling and ride that you run a good shock, rather than get a specific top mount.
Have ran both on and off track. Doing V3 again on my current car.

I ended up getting RSS top mounts and the gt3 lca's.

Should put them in this weekend!
