The F430 is the first F-car I'd get F1 in - certainly not in the 355...

Manual gearboxes are so much more fun .

no question without. The 355 F1 is HORRIBLE. It totally ruins the car. The CS is actually the first one that it works well on...or so i hear, i haven't driven one yet. Even on the normal 360 it's not that good.

355 uses an older generation F1 tranny that has a good amount of problems and lag time... manual wins by far.

On the 355 you for sure don't want the F1. Hmmm... the 355 looks with the 430 engine and transmission!

I had a 95 F355b and the 6speed is the way to go. They feel notchy when shifted slow but have a great feel when shifted hard. I've driven the 355 with a F1 and it was brutal every time it shifted . I guess the f1s in the 360 and the CSs are better. Also the F1s tend to eat clutches. carl

the f1 in the 360 was a POS, so I can't imagine what it was like in the 355. Go manual.

I had a manual 355, I loved the clutch and tranny- I only wish my Turbo was like that.
