Anyone done a B & M short shift kit?

Anyone done a B & M short shift kit? My indy has one and I was thinking of trying it. Any feedback out there? Thanks in advance.

I have one and Iam very happy with it. Very short throws. Somewhat notchy but that is ok with me since I wanted shortest throws. The 997 SS kit is smoother I understand...

I've broken 2 with no support from B&M within warranty period. EVO SSK all the way. Its my second one now in 2 P-cars and I love it.

Two years now and no problems. Just need to be carefully adjusted first time when installed.

997 SSK all the way.... driven both, B&M seems like it should be made for a mustang or a viper... not a Porsche.

I have one- its been fine for the 14K miles I've had it. Little bit notch in the cold, but overall not a bad item. That being said... there are much better options out there these days (997 parts)

Thanks for all the replies. Now I'm torn. Seems like the notchy thing is consistant and the 997 SSK is the one of choice? The B & M is $400.00 installed. Anyone have an idea of the 997 SSK installed price? Thanks for the help !

I've had a B&M shifter kit in my 996 for five years without any problems. If is set up properly, you should not have any issues. Short, crisp throws with a little notchiness.

Same for me, only had mine for a few months, but this sums it up.

Ditto. The 997 SSK is a great option as well.

Had mine for 6 years...as stated above if it is installed correctly no notchiness. It is the OEM shifter manufacturer

I had one, but it was too notchy. I installed the 997 shifter and it's buttery smooth. If anyone in the southeast wants a 996 ssk for free, come pick it up. It's just collecting dust in my garage.
