Max boost on stock?

I have a 2005 TT S that I bought with 12k miles. Looked completely stock. Doesn't necessarily feel like it is tuned or significantly different from other TTs I test drove before purchase.

I thought stock boost max was 0.8 or so from reading various threads. Usually on mine the most I've seen is 0.6 and an occasional 0.7 in regular driving with some higher speeds getting onto the highway or passing then quickly slowing back down to the speed limit.

Today I took it to redline in both 2nd and 3rd specifically to watch the boost and saw the car hitting 1.0 bar in 3rd for a half second before redline. I kept trying and hit 0.9 a couple of times afterwards in 2nd, but I was off the highway so couldn't test 3rd again.

Does this mean the car is already flashed? Can the S go to 1.0 bar unflashed when at 5500 rpm for just a half-second before shifting? Will a flash allow higher boost or a more sustained 1.0 starting at less than 5500 rpm?

The max stock boost on nonS cars is .7, then sustained .6. X50/S cars boost to .9/.8 I believe.

I have the same car and before I flashed it I saw .8 and .9 all day long. Your car may not ba flashed but may need a little work. Start with an oil, oil filter and air filter change. Use only factory parts. See how she feels after these changes.

I have stock turbos and a mild boost setting on my Revo flash and I hit 1.2 bar with no problem (2nd gear on up).

Leave the maf alone... there is probably nothing wrong with your car....
colder temps will cause the boost to spike... just like hotter temps will drop it...
your not in limp mode.. your not over boosting... why are your looking for trouble?

BTW, you said your car is unflashed... but your sig. says "2005 Turbo S Cabriolet EPL ECU"

confused...

It's bought and in the mail.. I got ahead of myself.

Hence the concern that I might have bought a flash without knowing I was already flashed.

if your boost doesn't spike and drop off and is consistant in building the same amount(except for when u heat soak your stock intercoolers) things are running fine and no hesitations or vibes at certain rpms your car is fine.

having a flash from a known shop who you can work with and datalog and make sure that your car doesn't deveolp issues is never a bad thing.
