EVO GT610 Kit Questions
EVO GT610 Kit Questions
I am in the process of purchasing an 03TT with a GT610 kit on it.
-I owned an 01TT with a flash and exhaust, is the gt610 a HUGE difference?
- What kind of whp/wtq should it be producing?
- The car currently runs with 93octane, do I need to get it reprogrammed for 91 for here in California?
- Should I have issues with smog in California?
- It is currently running stock clutch, will that suffice?
Anyone know of any videos of a gt610 kit? I tried youtube and only found 700hp+ kits.
Thanks guys.

Contact EVO for specifics. Yes you will have to have the ECU calibrated for 91 octane fuel if it has a 93 program. Find out as much as you can from PO. Stock clutch?! That's shocking it wasnt upgraded when turbo kit was installed.

I ran a 7.68s 60-130 with this kit and ~180 the TX Mile
Here is a dyno and the 7.68s 60-130:
make sure that you verify the car has EVOMSit tuning and not the older GIAC tuning or you'll be reading much more on this board.
take this car to one of our site sponsers in cali, and get a proper PPI done
give evoms a call and see if they will provide info on the kit and help you out in your decision

I have a dyno of 520hp/510tq on 93 with the GT610 (it is somewhere around there). I can try to get you the scans if you like, let me know. I still have a stock clutch and the kit has been on for about 9K miles. All the GT610 kits have Evomsit tuning. I am planning on replacing the clutch when it starts slipping (I would think soon), so plan on that soon for yourself.
No. But I will be tomorrow.
I am looking at 2 cars there. One has k24/18g's with protomotive flash and then this one with the GT610 kit.
The guy with k24/18g told me he was making about 560whp with dyno slips.
Which is a better setup?

They are virtually the same with the GT610 (if it has the alpha 28's) having quicker spool. The K24/18g's are an older technology, but a popular and venerable turbo. The Alpha 28's are newer technology. Drive them both and see which one you think is better. Try to identify if the cars have other supporting mods..piping, IC's etc...makes a big difference, especially in potential...

The potential of both setups is entirely dependant on supporting mods. You will get different opinions on which is better but imo the facts support that they are very close in power with equivalent supporting mods. They both pull well up top. The A28s do not die up high like the hybrid GT28s did as long as you have the aftermarket intake piping. I like the fast spool of the A28s but you need a PBox to tell the difference in spool of a similarly modded 24/18 car.
The A28 setup does cost more than the 24/18 so that might figure in to which one you buy. If I were you, I would buy the car with the most supporting mods since they can get expensive and largely determine the hp that each turbo makes.

Well said.
