Techart Exhaust quiet vs Fabspeed Sport (quiet/moderate)

so i installed the techart quiet yesterday

drove around a little while.

i think i lost some power compared to my fabspeed...

i used to be able to get wheel slip in second gear and now i can't.

it feels a little sluggish now...

it is a little quieter.
when i start it up and at idle, it isn't as loud.
in parking lots, it doesn't set off alarms.
just very muted til about 4~5000, and then it sounds like a machine gun..
no burble yet.
and there still is that resonance at 2-3k... but the whole thing is quieter so i guess it's less?

do you think the ecu needs to adjust and compensate for the new exhaust?

comments and experience about both systems, if you've had them, would be much appreciated.

so i don't know if i like it yet! will post some new thoughts when i start having them

Did you put your cats back in the exhaust? I know from working on supras that if you hit the rev limiter a couple times the Ecu will retard the timing to protect its self. Find out how to reset your Ecu and try that, If not pull out your cats and you will really wake things up and increase your Hp.

Hey Anthony:

It's amazing how different the TA "quiet" version is from the Fabspeed "quiet". Fabspeed is always louder.

I thought there were only 2 TA exhausts for the 996 TT? I know Rodis has the TA Sport Exhaust and it sounds pretty good...but it is not nearly as loud as Fabspeed. There is the TA Racing Exhaust which I hear is very, very loud. Maybe you can give that a try!?

Good luck!

T

thomas,

I got the sport version (quieter). I'm getting used to it for now, but still haven't taken it on the freeway yet.

the wheels do slip on the rainy pavement though

it's just so much quieter.... think the gf will like it more.

so does the ecu adjust over time or do i reset it?

how bout some race gas to kick start it?

I also have the techart sport, with the eurorev ecu. I do not notice any resonance. I do not have a Cab though.

finally had a chance to drive on the freeway.
out to beverly hills and hollywood....

yep.
definitely lost some power vs the fabspeed.
feels like the turbo lag has increased.
still have a mild drone at 2200-2600, but a little quieter...

it does sound pretty different at wot though.

it grows on you.....
