I try to get out, but they keep pulling me back in!
After a 4 month absence for the GT2, upon getting her back I have been trying my best to be a good boy and obey all posted signs limiting speed
However tonight as I was at the stoplight about to get on the feeder leading on to the Mexican 59, a new M3 Vert pulled up next to me with two 20 something gentlemen.
Seeing that I was obviously much older and thus unlikely to respond to a challenge the driver revved his motor and when the light turned green launched the M hard. I quickly rowed through first and second and by the time the diverter valves wailed I was up 2 lengths. The feeder funneled into one lane ramping onto the highway and by the time I was there I had shifted into 4th and was up by 6 lengths.
There was some traffic so I slowed to 70 but soon had a large stretch of open road ahead of me. The M was almost upon me and I shifted down into third and once again opened up a several busslength lead.
With more traffic I pretty much shut down and the gentlemen pulled up next to me and being good sports gave me the thumbs up. I returned the favor and pulled off the highway.
When I checked my boost controller I saw that I was running 1.32 which is .4 tenths more than I have been cleared to run on pump
In any event, good times and I think I had better work a bit harder on behaving myself.
Thanks to Betim for the new exhaust, btw....we ran into some bumps along the way, but Betims response every time was "what do I need to do the make things right" and right they are!

Sounds like fun.
I just got my first ticket in the turbo after over 5 years of ownership. The cop saw me at full throttle for 1-2 seconds in 2nd gear. Obviously I was speeding by then
It's certainly changed my attitude out there.
I've been let go more often than I have been ticketed in the last 10 years. No real trick, just chat up the guy and tell them this is a once in while car. No matter what day it is, I say oh man I only take this car out on "name today". I can't believe I got pulled over.
That's after a motorcycle cop pulled up to me and waived the naughty finger at me once on the freeway and another cop plum let me go with a stern "you better stop that ****" and promptly pulled over the STR8 Charger I had just street raced (I'll never know why he let me go and ticketed the other guy).
Realistically, almost no-one ever challenges me. What's up with that? Do they know it's no contest even at stock power levels?
