I am looking at a 2003 996TT with X50 package. The owner says it's stock, loaded with everything but nav. It has 38XXX miles, and he is asking $59k. Does that seem somewhat high? I was thinking closer to 50-52k would be a good deal. Thanks!

On average $4300 more than a non-X50. My pricing calculator predicts a sales price of $48,100.

Seems the price of k24's used is around 2k, so thats all the x-50 package would be worth to me on the used market over a k16 equipped vehicle.

Wow, so that's not much at all. That makes $59k seem even higher. Interestingly, if I plug it in to that pricing calculator that was posted here, it comes up with $56,995.

Here in CA, there's a dealer with one for $55k with 27k miles, 1 owner, X50, CPO for 2yrs, 100k miles. I was advised to pass, and ended up picking up a cheap 2001

The X50 not only has the bigger turbos but bigger intercoolers, and different ECU map. So there is more co$t then just the turbos.

Plus how many do you think had that option considering the stupid $ it took to get the 30+HP/30+Trq? ( 17K when new )

That does seem high though. I was lucky and the guy that sold me my Turbo was the 2nd owner and didn't know it was an X50. I found out about 3 months later when I had the Vin# ran to get all the factory options.

Good luck.

Sounds high. Should be around $50K with those miles

I agree. Around $50K feels better. X50 in the used market just isn't worth much. I also bought mine with the seller not knowing it was an X50.

Well then I suppose a 2002 X50 with no nav and 30k miles isn't worth $55K (private party sale)? Seems a little steep to me (like 10%). Plus the past maintenance records are not crystal clear.

I purchased my X50 with 32k miles for under $50k and it had the remainder (10 months) of a Porsche CPO Warranty.

The warranty is what sold me and it has payed off on the clutch slave replacement and some other issues.

Also, any of these cars without crystal clear maintenance records tells me move on and find another!

My $.02.

Well all the maintenance records are available, it sounds like it is just too high priced. I could go offer $48k and work up to $50k, but I may be wasting my time.

A $10k gap may be hard to bridge. Some people are way unrealistic as to what their car is worth. Generally it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it...... good luck

That looks like a good deal - especially if you could get it down to 53 or 54.
