psm & ABS and engine messages
just started my car after it sat for maybe 6 weeks... have a message ABS & PSM FAILURE and a outline of the engine showing up on my dash.. and it sounds like a ticking noise from the engine area.. any thoughts? when I parked it 6 weeks it was running fine.. no error or code messages..
these lights (ABS/PSM and check engine) are clearly MAF...Now about the ticking noise...maybe oil needed some time to get to lifters after a long time parked...Did the noise go away after some seconds?
MAF is #1
Also can see with boost leak and believe it or not a bad brake pressure switch. Iam sure there are others as well. It would be nice to get a code reader so you could narrow it down better...

after seeing the codes/messages i shut it off...so did not give the running of the engine time to move oil around to see if the clicking noise went away...so maf is the reason? can the car be driven like this?
If its the MAF or boost leak, yes you can drive it. I wouldnt hammer it though. It would be best to get a code reader on it so you could narrow down the cause more.
First thing to check is if all your lights (headlight, brake lights etc.) work and if any fuses are burnt.
This may sound stupid but I got PSM/ABS warning because my right headlight stoped working. It shouldn't be any problem if you drive the car but it's not that rare for others parts to stop working when you electric circle is broken (in my case water pump).
If you can't find any broken bulbs or fuses take it to your dealer but keep an eye on vital information (oil pressure, temperature etc.).

if the warnings are from the maf...does the car run the same? or it will be not running right? seems like my car is now hesitant when sitting in the garage at idle then if I give it some rpm's it seems to sound off... normal with a bad maf?

The MAF change is an easy job to do yourself as long as you have a security TORX set. But you need to be sure its the MAF before you purchase a new one.
You can always test your MAF if you got a simple volt meter....If you are a contributer....: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...af-basic-test/
As noted above, there are many, many things that can cause the PSM/ABS lights to come on. Often, it's the MAF, but it can be steering angle sensor, an actual ABS problem, fuses...
There should be no problem with driving the car mildly to AutoZone. Have the codes read and post them - several of us have shop manuals and will post the detailed manual pages. Also, consider buying a Durametric, so that you can read the codes yourself.

going to have to have the codes read,,, the thing that gets me is the car ran fine when I parked it 6 weeks, started it the other day and got all the codes ( engine light, ABS and PSM) I really think..problems come from letting cars sit...
I don't doubt it...seems the Porsche Electronic Engineers were trained at Lucas.
