Looking for some exterior mod ideas
Looking for some exterior mod ideas
Borrowed this pic from a thread on the forum, which had some of the mods the I was contemplating already.

Was thinking about Precision Porsche TA Front, not sure about the sides, will either paint existing lowers or consider the PP sides, for the rear bumper, I like this below, not sure which bumper this is.

I was planning on either going with the matte black Forgestar F14's or the matte black Ruger Mesh wheels in 19", keep my stock 18's if I ever decide to track or drag race, not likely.
I was also planning on doing some matte black vinyl wrapping, side mirrors, GT2 wing (MaShaw, just the wing part leaving everything else gloss black, was also thinking about wrapping the hood and roof matte black also.
My car is gloss black, any thoughts or alternative ideas is greatly appreciated, as sometimes it hard to envision the final product yet along make difficult decisions. Windows are already tinted.

All personal opinions on the exterior car mods... Best bet is to look at as many pics as you can and go with your gut. Just remember that the less the quality of the parts, no matter how much you think you like the look, the quality of the car goes down.
Get the best fitment and most OEM feel if possible, thats my only advice.

Let me know if I can help. I think it all depends on what kind of look you are going for. Aggressive? Clean? Loud? simple?
I personally did not like the TA sides so we made the 997 TA sides to fit the 996. Here's pics of it on my car (as well as the rear bumper - which is the GT street rear)

Thanks.

Are you not a fan of the some of the companies I mentioned ? I did research and most seemed happy with their experience. I could go HRE, put really like the F14 and Ruger Mesh wheels, and figured I would save the 2-3k instead of HRE's. Other options are the BBS CH-R. I don't think Tech Art original body pieces are in my budget.

Whoever you buy your parts from (whether it's from Precision or whoever), make sure they stand behind their product and that you feel comfortable that they will take care of you

The Forgestar F14 is a flow form wheel that is not only strong and lightweight but is also of great value and costs a fraction of what other competitors are charging. The Forgestar lineup utilizes a combination of the best methods of forging and casting methods both in the same wheel. This is called Flow Form Casting, and is used by companies such as BBS and Enkei. These wheels are made to order and can be made to fit your Porsche with a large range of offsets.
Flow Form Casting is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel.
I'll shoot you over a PM with more details!
