Strange noise

I have a strange rattle when going over bumps. It sounds like the rear deck lid is loose, but I adjusted the bumpers and the noise is still there. Could there be something loose under the carpet or drive/engine related? The noise is behind the seats for sure, but can't seem to track it down. (02 gt2)

Thanks

Check the fan on the rear deck lid. Mine was loose and rattled and the light socket on it was making noise as well. I had to be creative with rubber to make it all stop.

noise still there

I checked for loose bits in the engine compartment and checked the fan to make sure mounting was tight. Still, I can't seem to track down the thumping sound. Ideas?

Thanks
