2001 Pricing

I am looking at a 2001 Turbo Artic with 4000 miles. It has Nav, and small silver. Price is 84,000 but I am sure I can move them a few thousand - the 84k includes an extended warrenty for 2 years. What do you think is fair pricing? Also is there any preference between 2001 and 2002 besides the glove box?

I have three months but seriously considering the car since the mileage is so low.

One other quick question the car has been sitting in the lot for 6 months. Are there any concerns with that? I am sure they start in once in a while since it is often moved but not sure if the mileage is too low...

Some 2001 models have solid spoke wheels versus the hollow spokes. I have both wheels (one for track and one for street). The hollow spokes feel much better.

Some 01's also have bumper warts on the front bumper cover. They can be removed but the holes left behind will need to be filled and then some paintwork.

Some people have mentioned that 01's might be a bit lighter but I'm not sure about that. I thought I also heard theat Walter Rohl said the '01 feels the best but I can't believe they're that different.

No bumperettes but I have to ask about the wheels... Good point.

$84K is too high. I just sold my '01 with 26K miles for $71,200. Even with so few miles, you should be in the mid-high 70's depending on equipment.

You're a fool.

Should deduct $500 for every 1000 miles below 40k.

hell yea those people don't have the money to buy but want to steal the turbo for cheap...

if u think about it for the price u can't find a car out there now that match the performance & reliability (no vet please) to the turbo. many people are selling it but u have to face the fact that it's a awesome car in any way u see it.

Yes, I agree. The only car I would even consider right now is the GT2. If I do sell my TT, it would only be to get the GT2.

Also, the reliability factor is huge. I've never had a problem with car at anytime. And the performance is great (not the best but good enough for me).

You are talking about a 120k car when new, anyone who is selling them below 80k is desperate for a quick sale for one reason or another. I do not see 01's selling for lower than with such low miles on the East Coast. 84k is a great price IMO for an 01' in great shape w/ a warranty.

yeah but this one only has 4000 miles and is certified for an additional 2 years to 100K miles. Paying the extra 4000 for a cerified turbo is probably worth it for the piece of mind. Keep in mind though those 01's are trrading in for about 65K here in boston at least. Assuming this turbo was traded in high for 70,000, it costs them about 2500 at most for porsche certification and warranty, you should try to pay about $78,000. This way they are not going low enough not to make it worth it to them but you are not getting screwed, if the car has sat there for 6 months you could maybe even get it lower

I sold my July 2001 built TT - black, 6 spd, some options - in October 2003 with 20K miles, Techart rims, clean as can be for $87K. It took me three months and countless ads on autotrader, cars.com, and local papers.

I think thats a mistake but either way there are other comparable 01's with like 15k miles for aabout 78,000.
If anyone knows this dealer in CA they should check out if that was a mistake or not.
I am getting these numbers by searching on the porsche.com website on the preowned section search
